It's amazing to realize how much more blue counties contribute to our GDP than red ones.

@ElwoodBlues I think we as a country should start asking what red states are really contributing and why everyone is carrying them since to them, liberals are so evil and stuff. Red states should deal on their own. I'm sick of them
Crazywaterspring · 61-69, M
@SatanBurger They can keep the rural areas of red states. Most cities in red states (Texas) are either blue or purple. Of course gerrymandering is just one tool to keep certain states red.

Economic and population data would indeed suggest that the Red states are doing better than blue states since the 2024 election.
The nation is in decline.
I'm not trying to be contrary, just hating Trump is not productive of anything. And lies are a bad basis for beliefs, in my book.

@Roundandroundwego Nah.

https://hartmannreport.com/p/why-are-red-state-citizens-poorer-2ef

First, that generalization is broadly true:

— Blue states account for about 71 percent of America’s GDP, whereas Red states only produce 29 percent of our income and wealth.
— The median family income in Blue states is $74,243. In Red states it’s $63,553. Individual states highlight the disparity: New Jersey’s median income is $89,703, while Mississippi’s is $49,111.
— Counties that voted for Biden in 2020 are more diverse, being 35 percent nonwhite compared to 16 percent nonwhite populations in counties that voted for Trump.
— Counties that voted for Biden in 2020 are better educated, with 36 percent of their population having some college education compared to Trump’s counties at 25 percent.
— Residents of Blue states live 2.2 years longer, on average, than residents of Red states.
@SatanBurger most of the serious social problems that need addressed are national. Blue and red states could benefit from national plans that make sense. Everything seems to be in decay.

I saw an article today that said only California and New York are keeping the country out of recession
SatanBurger · 36-40, F
@Convivial I feel bad for them in all honesty, there's no reason to carry such ungrateful people. California and New York need to take care of themselves first.

@SatanBurger with such a murky future who knows what will happen

My first impression of this guy in the video is that he's actually a closet Republican who simply hates Donald Trump.

@SatanBurger
I think my point was, Kyle would not acknowledge the good work that Canada had done to secure Canada's lobster industry, but instead blamed the failure of America's lobster industry on global warming, saying nothing of America's failed trade deals.

The only people in the USA who do that are Republicans who hate Trump because Republicans are extremely self-centered and closed-minded individuals. That is why I know Kyle is a closet Republican Trump-hater, not a progressive as he otherwise advertises.
SatanBurger · 36-40, F
@swirlie But still under Trump’s many policies red states are still collapsing. I mean many districts don't have a hospital now.

@SatanBurger
Oh, I fully agree with that message of his in his video about red states collapsing and I fully understand the lack of sound logic behind their demise. All I'm really saying is that Kyle wants it both ways, as evidenced by the point I made about his video message and lobsters.
