He made an undisclosed deal with Netanyahu to release the Palestinian prisoners in exchange for the Israeli hostages, and for Israel to back off militarily for now. But Kirchner was part of it, and American weapons continue to flow at an accelerated pace into Israel, so the plan is still to kick all the Palestinians off of what remains of their land in Gaza and develop it into luxury real estate for the ultra rich. My guess is that Netanyahu will manufacture some sort of crisis and blame it on Hamas, call an end to the ceasefire, and resume obliterating Palestinian women and children until there is nothing left but rubble. It would fit his m.o., and it would be in line with his aspirations of the past 25+ years (to destroy Palestine completely). Trump must be getting something out of the deal, too; most likely a golf course along the beach. Perhaps he’s also going to campaign for the 2026 Nobel Peace Prize (while his masked goons continue to unconstitutionally and illegally smash down American families’ doors and rip children from their parents’ arms…. after all, what’s more peaceful than that?).

@Notsimilarreally not being snarky, being realistic. If you have followed Netanyahu’s career (going back decades), and if you open your eyes to what Kushner’s and the Trump family’s aspirations are (real estate development of the Gaza Strip), you will see exactly what is going on. This is not a win for the Palestinian people. It’s good the prisoners are freed and the remaining hostages get to go home, but Netanyahu and Trump actually don’t care about them, except as political pawns (otherwise Netanyahu would have agreed to the exact same peace deal last year, which Hamas agreed to but he didn’t). This “peace deal” is just for show, just to get the Israeli public off Netanyahu’s back for a while and to make Trump look good. Just you wait. Follow the money. We should be careful not to allow ourselves to be naïve.

I still do not trust Hamas at all.

@WillaKissing that was an unfair deal. And it was during the previous ceasefire wasn't it? Or was it today's too? I didn't actually read the article today, just the headline. I'm going to catch up on it later.

@WillaKissing I don’t trust Hamas. But I also don’t trust Netanyahu. Not as far as I could throw him.
