Perhapas because it leans much more heavily on authoritarian, patriarchal and mysogynist dogma, positing God as the Creator but also a tyrant dictating through the say-so of tribal priest-kings.

(About whom we know virtually nothing as people, too, because we have only their own versions, with no dates and no corroboration from elsewhere, of their own religion and politics.)

Jesus taught the opposite: serving a loving, kindly God by showing love and respect to each other rather than ruling by fear - and he liked women.

The Bible-thumpers who like their sort of Levite tyrany and like to call themselves "fundamentalist Christian", miss the irony of their position. The OT books were written over several centuries long before Jesus' birth, another three centuries before the Christian faith was established in its own name (rather than becoming simply a Jewish sect), and the dictatorial attitudes that attract the "fundamentalist" are not what Jesus taught.

Some parts of "Evangelical" Christianity don't actually evangelize, but you struck a chord.


The OT has competing notions of God (Elohim/<Name of God>) and it seems to have a lot of desert religion influence: God is harsh, brutal, capricious, and really WANTS to whip / destroy us. Fear is how MAGA has been activated, so naturally they draw from areas of religions where fear is used as a primary motivator.

I keep teiling ppl here that Christianity is based upon Christ's Life and all the Aspects of that Life. So a true Christian should concentrate on the four Gospels, which represent the clearest picture in the accepted canon of Who Jesus was, what He thought, did, felt...

There is no way to ignore His primacy if you actually ARE Christian.

But DJT isn't Christ-like, etc.


So I think these persons are used to not thinking for themselves, and like to have their egos stroked...including feeling superior to others in terms of "I'm saved, YOU'RE not"...and thus sinning by usurping God's prerogative of judging...

They don't even do that..otherwise, they wouldn't have tattoos, eat bacon or venison, they would keep their hair trimmed and nice, they wouldn't be idolizing the president, among numerous other rules and regulations the Lord put down in the bible. They just cherry pick the parts they want to follow

Because they use any excuse to hate others for being even slightly different than them or having a different opinion.
