People need to stop saying the left is at fault for this or the right is at fault for that.

Some guy was crazy enough to kill another human being on air. It's not that different from the many mass shootings our country has experienced. We are mentally ill as a nation, paranoid, and trying to blame it on one another. And as I say, we will starve ourselves in the pursuit of absolute security.

I said this before he was caught - and got ridiculed for it. This really wasn’t politically motivated - at least directly. This is about the conflict between the shooter and his family/community of origin. No different than other young shooters who want attention. In his case - maybe attention from his conservative upbringing, or maybe to appear as a big shot to his online friends. Really had little to with Kirk - but more about what he represents. Total shame that Kirk was in the crosshairs.

And I will state again - I couldn’t disagree more with Kirk’s message - but a person has a right to believe what he/she wants even if it means pissing a whole lot of people off. He was a person that many looked to, including many in my family. I in no way consider him “evil”.

As investigators dig more and more into the shooter's background and state of mind, it is becoming more and more clear what his motivation was. And it is crystal clear now that the shooting was politically motivated. Was he crazy? I don't know. That remains to be seen. But he was very clearly angry with Charlie's message and wanted it silenced.

@sarabee1995 on the surface, maybe. But it seems more like he had issues with his family/community’s conservative beliefs and this was his way to attack that. Charlie embodied that which caused him angst.

@trollslayer I think we are saying the same thing.

He developed very left leaning views which conflicted with his conservative family.
And he considered Charlie to be a fascist who paralleled many of those views.
He then sought to silence Charlie not because he had brown hair, but because he espoused those views.

Yeah. I just posted about the same thing.
@Zonuss I don't know if he was MAGA or not. If he was then it serves as a good talking point for that one party.

Regardless, it was a person crazy enough to kill another human being, just like the rest.

And we still take the luxury of pretending like our country is holier than thou.

@SinlessOnslaught Hate is self destructive. Latest news. He may have been a disgruntled MAGA who is a fan of Nick Fuentes. A rival of Charlie Kirk.
Sorry, no, knowing the root causes of things is important.
