Vigils Held Nationwide in Honor of Slain Conservative Voice, Charlie Kirk

Charlie Kirk is dead. The conservative leader and founder of Turning Point USA was assassinated. He was shot and killed while giving a speech at Utah Valley University. He was only 31. He leaves behind a wife and two small children. What kind of monster orphans two children for politics?

Charlie Kirk wasn’t some stuffy commentator. He was a fighter. For a generation of young conservatives who felt shouted down, he was a hero. He reminded them it was okay to love America and to speak the truth. He built a movement that truly scared the establishment.

President Donald Trump knew how important Charlie was. He loved him. And he is heartbroken, just like the rest of us. Leaders from all over the world are saying the same thing. They knew he was a warrior for freedom. They knew he was murdered for telling the truth. Many Americans followed their lead.

Vigils were held across the country following the killing of conservative activist Charlie Kirk at an event in Utah on Wednesday.

Kirk, the 31-year-old co-founder of Turning Point USA, was shot and killed on the campus of Utah Valley University on Wednesday afternoon. He was transported to a hospital in critical condition before he was later pronounced dead.

Politicians, faith leaders, fellow conservative activists and others mourned Kirk’s death, with some announcing vigils to stand against political violence in the wake of his murder.

And how did our side respond? With prayer. All across America, good people gathered for vigils. They lit candles. They prayed for Charlie’s family. They prayed for our nation.

Look at the difference. Our side prays. Their side preys. That’s the choice in America today. We can be a nation on our knees in prayer, or we can be a nation brought to its knees by violence.

@JSul3 98% of the people that end up on heroin started by drinking milk. Eliminate milk and the heroin problem is solved, right?

@sunsporter1649 OMG!

The statement that "98% of the people that end up on heroin started by drinking milk" is a false and misleading claim. This is an example of a logical fallacy known as "correlation vs. causation," and it ignores the overwhelming scientific evidence about the real risk factors for heroin addiction.
Here is an analysis of why this claim is baseless:

Correlation vs. Causation: Nearly 100% of all people, regardless of their future life choices, drank milk as an infant or child. Claiming that milk causes heroin use is a false correlation, similar to saying that because most heroin users have also used a phone or walked on a sidewalk, phones and sidewalks are therefore "gateways" to heroin. Correlation between two events does not mean one caused the other.

Real risk factors for heroin addiction: Scientific research identifies several factors that increase a person's risk for heroin addiction.
These include:
Prior opioid misuse: The National Institute on Drug Abuse notes that about 80% of people with heroin addiction first misused prescription opioids.
Family history: A personal or family history of substance use disorders is a significant risk factor.
Mental health: Co-occurring mental health disorders, such as depression or PTSD, are linked to higher rates of substance use.
Environmental factors: Associating with peers who use drugs, experiencing stress or trauma, and living in an environment where substance abuse is common can all increase risk.
Genetics: Inherited genetic factors, such as a predisposition toward impulsivity, can make some individuals more vulnerable to addiction.
Misconceptions about milk's "addictive" properties: Some sources have drawn a misleading comparison by discussing "casomorphins," a compound in milk that acts on the same opioid receptors in the brain as heroin, though with vastly less potency. Some addiction recovery blogs use this information to suggest that milk is unhelpful for people with opioid use disorder. However, casomorphins from consuming milk do not cross the blood-brain barrier in amounts large enough to produce any opioid-like effect or to cause addiction.
Heroin is sometimes "cut" with powdered milk: In some cases, illegal heroin is mixed with other substances to increase its bulk and street value. One of these substances can be powdered milk. While this is a fact about illegal drug manufacturing, it in no way suggests that drinking milk leads to addiction.

The claim that drinking milk leads to heroin addiction is a classic example of false logic. It uses a universal, early-life experience (drinking milk) and tries to connect it to a serious and complex issue (heroin addiction), ignoring all true risk factors.

@JSul3 You mean 98% of heroin addicts did not drink milk?

@BizSuitStacy I'm pretty sure his personal friends and flatmate knew him better than you ever could. The Dems didn't know him, he was just one of many who volunteered to take part in a community programme. He was anti abortion. Doesn’t sound much like a lefty to me.
@Richard65 Ohhh...leftists wouldn't lie. Ohhh...maybe Adam Schiff has a super anonymous whistle blower 😳
