That is a great comparison. I truly feel things are different now than they were a day ago. I'm vocal here as some are aware. I don't stand for too much crap. But IRL, I'm laid back. I don't engage in much political discussion because it's a waste of my time. Even my girlfriend has differing political views than my own. And that doesn't bother me.
However, evil is evil and I'm pushing back when I find it. Today is 9/11 and I remember the awful feelings of that day. Oddly, this event has similar feeling to it.
This is not a time to romanticize violence. Both sides can do harm to the other, don't kid yourself. By the way, no one knows the politics of the shooter. He hasn't even been caught yet.
