Annual Wikipedia Fundraiser Says For Just $2.75 You Can Help Them Censor Truth

Internet users were given another rare opportunity to play a role in the dissemination of agenda-driven misinformation, as the annual Wikipedia fundraiser said that for just $2.75, they could help censor the truth.

The popular user-edited online encyclopedia announced its yearly pledge drive, telling visitors to the website that, for a small donation, they too could have a hand in altering facts and deleting accurate information for users around the globe.

"When it comes to censorship, your participation is vital," the pop-up window said as it bragged about Wikipedia never having pop-up windows. "Without your donation, Wikipedia will not be able to twist the truth and spin agenda-driven narratives as effectively. Please consider a $2.75 donation to help us keep censoring the truth and misinforming hundreds of millions of people around the world. We can't do it without you."

Charitable donations from users were more important now than ever before, according to a member of Wikipedia's board of trustees. "Suppressing the truth and spreading falsehoods isn't cheap," said trustee Ricky Pedia. "It is only through the support of our users that we can continue to provide the half-truths and full-on dishonesty that make it possible to misinform the world. We count on these $2.75 donations to keep the engine of censorship running."

At publishing time, Wikipedia had reportedly hired a new team of completely unqualified and untrained editors to make sure the content of the website was more inaccurate and unreliable than ever.

Satirising literally the most de-centralised, diverse and accessible information source on the internet is a pretty strange tactic for soneone who claims to be interested in free speech.

Did they reject your ground breaking article making a clear connection between Hunter's laptop and the price of eggs?
