You Would Think This Was A Saddam Adoration Feast

If you watched the White House tech CEOs dinner last night. I especially loved how Tim Cook praised the leadership of the frst lady in the tech space.

Huh???

Surprised to see Bill Gates there, but I guess Bill got some advice on how to hide his disgust of Trump long enough to peers. Also noted Altman's reminder that this sort of attention to tech has not been done before.

Trump was of course lapping it up. 🤣

A free dinner is a free dinner. Also, if it wasn't a free dinner, it's always good to hear what the competition is thinking, especially in political circles. Sometimes you have to swallow the bile and make nice.

@Northwest No offense. I appreciate your info, but no, I don't see Gates as a robber barron, but i refuse to see him as anything less than an imperial capitalist.

As for the things you are confused about, those were things that came up on a quick google search. I did not verify the validity of any of them because honestly, I have alrwady given Gates more of my time and attention than he ever deserves.

We will not agree. You are happy to stan for Gates. I am not. I'm okay with this disagreement. So I will bow out of the conversation.

I stand for the truth, not any person, and I did not google any of this, I mostly lived it.

@Northwest That's fine. I believe all billionaires are unethical due to their exploitation of labor, resources and political reach. Your lived experience is yours and I respect that. I just disagree that Gates is worthy of praise.

Not surprised about Gates.

There's three ways to power and all three involve lots and lots of money.

Don't let charities deceive you.
They are extremely powerful. The more money in the charity, the more powerful it is.

And the Gates foundation is the largest charity in the world.

Why Trump wanted him there.

Trump may admire loyalty the most, yet power and money are close seconds and thirds. Hence the Saudi admiration. The worlds second richest family.

@DeWayfarer Trump wanted to make all the important people to come to him, because he’s got a big ego and then he can talk about how the important people said he’s great.

Gates and trump cosying up.....well tickle me pink they are pushing the same agendas (obvious if you are objective). Time for the partisan left/right crowd to have a look in the mirror

@gol979 So you picked up the latest Gates conspiracy theories. Congrats.

Gates kissed the ring, because he realized he need to feed Trump’s ego, otherwise there’s no chance the foreign aid can be restored, or at least some of it.

Perhaps you should have a conversation with him about eugenics. Or you might want to learn something about his late father.

For instance, he spearheaded the Washington state effort to make sure the estate tax does not get repealed.

Gates may have been a player, but he mostly doesn’t understand what consent means. As in, if a woman gave her consent, it means nothing if you’re her boss. The Epstein thing is made up. The Wall Street journal did a story on how Epstein created the illusion of him and gates being buddies. Google hates. Epstein

Millions of African children are alive thanks to him. And he’s never been to pedo island.

His exe’s book makes it sound as she caught unaware of his philandering, but that is simply is bullshit.
