When you really zoom out of it, he was a super rich guy with a lot of connections, including hanging out with Epstein, who basically had influence over all the money men in the world. I think it was. It wasn't even about money, or in his case, perceived wealth.

He has had an interest in politics since the 80's. He often talked about running for president.

I think his foray into TV and movies was a way to make himself a public figure.

I think he just didn't see a strong road to the White House, till 2012 when Steve Bannon and he became friends and Bannon helped him form a path. Since Breitbart had such a strong alt right following, and the ideology of The Heritage Project seeing that trump was following what Bannon was suggesting, which they support, helped as well.

With all of that taking place, it seems a small leap to convince a narcissistic man like trump to run. I don't know if they could have found a better puppet to take the spot, to be honest.

@FoxyQueen the thing is, some of the stuff he says is what people believe, but his execution seems to be disastrous and counterproductive to even the original cause

@plungesponge Welcome to Megolomania! Where you believe everything that comes out of your mouth is golden and needs to be logged down for prosperity.

He stepped away from the cause ages ago. It isn't his point anymore. Hus point is saying things that make his supporters adore him, or what he views as adoration. He abandoned purpose a while back.

To be honest, I really believe that his inner circle whisper conspiratory things in his ear before he has any public speech to get him set off on some tangent where he says he will do even more heinous things, and since he said it, his cabinet works to make it so he can, which was their plan all along, but now they can say they are just acting on his words. And because a lot of it has to do with restricting or removing rights from people his followers have been manipulated to hate, they love it.
