Illinois Law Extends State Financial Aid to Illegal Immigrants

Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker, a major Democratic leader and rumored presidential candidate, signed a bill into law opening student financial aid to all residents, regardless of immigration status, opening a pathway for illegal immigrants residing in the state to receive educational financial benefits…

The bill purports to establish “equitable eligibility for financial aid and benefits” for all students in the state.

The bill reads that “a student who is an Illinois resident and who is not otherwise eligible for federal financial aid, including, but not limited to, a transgender student who is disqualified for failure to register for selective service or a noncitizen student who has not obtained lawful permanent residence, shall be eligible for financial aid and benefits.”

If you want to see this betrayal in action, just look at Illinois. Governor J.B. Pritzker, a big-shot Democrat with his eye on the White House, just signed a bill that is almost too crazy to believe. He is forcing Illinois taxpayers to pay for college financial aid for illegal immigrants. You heard that right. The law now makes noncitizens who are in the country illegally eligible for the same benefits as American students.

Let’s call this what it is: a total slap in the face. Our own families are struggling just to get by. But in Illinois, a state already drowning in debt, Democrats are finding brand new ways to spend your money. As Rep. Miller said, Pritzker is “determined to drain even more taxpayer dollars to reward illegals.”

This isn’t just a mistake. It is a choice. A spokesperson for the Illinois GOP hit the nail on the head, saying Pritzker “is prioritizing illegal immigrants at the expense of Illinois families.” Think about that. They are literally taking money out of the pockets of citizens to reward people for breaking the law. It’s absolutely shameful.

So, what’s the logic here? One of the bill’s Democrat sponsors, State Senator Celina Villanueva, said this was all about making sure “no student is left behind because of where they were born.” Seriously? That’s their reason? Last I checked, citizenship is what matters here, not where someone was born.

She even said that anyone living in Illinois should have “the same opportunities as your peers.” Since when are people who broke our laws to get here the “peers” of our own children? This is the twisted, globalist thinking of the Left. They don’t see a difference between an American citizen and an illegal immigrant. They’re telling every legal immigrant who waited in line that they were suckers for following the rules.
