In Times of Trouble it's Good to Talk.

Trump and Putin fail to make any sort of agreement it's not the "End of the World" Donald Trump tried he's a great statesman for trying I didn't think these talks would get far although it was worth trying.

Let's have more meetings like that in the future.

Although it is some relief that he did not make an unacceptable territorial concession on behalf of others, he has - consciously or inadvertently - given away a huge diplomatic advantage and shown yet again that his red lines count for little.

@SunshineGirl His Dementia gets more obvious with each passing day.

@justanothername I remember the Cuban Missile Crisis just it's good to get around a table and talk Donald Trump represents the USA & Europe at that table many may joke and poke fun.

@senghenydd It is unclear who he is representing at the moment. Trying to broker a peace agreement with only one of the parties is an unorthodox approach.

@SunshineGirl Zelensky to travel to Washington on Monday for talks with Trump
@sunsporter1649 Talk is cheap. Meanwhile, the war continues, despite tRump's promises that he could end it in 24 hours.

tRump, May 2023: “They’re dying, Russians and Ukrainians. I want them to stop dying. And I’ll have that done — I’ll have that done in 24 hours.”

tRump, Sept 2024: “That is a war that’s dying to be settled. I will get it settled before I even become president,” Trump said during his September debate with then-Vice President Kamala Harris. “If I win, when I’m president-elect, and what I’ll do is I’ll speak to one, I’ll speak to the other. I’ll get them together.”

tRump, Mar 15, 2025: "Pretty good vibes coming out of Russia" ... "I feel that Russia is going to make a deal with us."

tRump tweet, Apr 24, 2025: "Vladimir, STOP!"

@ElwoodBlues So you have no plan either, eh?
@sunsporter1649 Au contraire, mon ami, I DO have a plan.
sunsporter1649 · 70-79, M
@ElwoodBlues Well then, enlighten us uneducated folks of your brilliant plan to end the killing
@sunsporter1649 it's based on the principle that actions speak louder than words.

My plan is to provide Ukraine with weapons sufficient to destroy power plants, substations, and gasoline storage around Moscow. When consequences come home to Russians, when their lights go out and their vehicles run low on fuel, they'll be interested in making a deal.

tRump's promises that he could end that war in 24 hours have achieved NOTHING.

tRump, May 2023: “They’re dying, Russians and Ukrainians.

All leading up to this "Vladimir, STOP!" archetype of impotence!!

@SunshineGirlUh huh…

@ElwoodBlues You, end the war by dropping more bombs, brilliant! And of course the ruskies are just gonna sit there, quacking in fear, right?

@sunsporter1649 And your plan to end the war is ...?
sunsporter1649 · 70-79, M
@ElwoodBlues Precisely what President Trump is doing....ongoing dialog, arming NATO to help the european nations defend themselves from ruskie and raghead terrorism, ongoing economic pressure to russia and their trading partners to squeeze their economies. Just like Renaldus Reganis did to crush the ussr
@sunsporter1649 Arming NATO?? ROTFL!!!
tRump spent his first term threatening to withdraw from NATO! And, according to tRump's national security advisor, Putin only held of attacking Ukraine that long because he was hoping tRump would withdraw from NATO!!

No sooner had Donald Trump won re-election than his intemperate broadsides included the threat to withdraw the United States from NATO. Europeans can now see that probably won’t happen because he is doing even worse; he’s ignoring NATO’s very existence.

Seventy-five years of transatlantic security cooperation are being discarded by a US President whose controversial and indeed questionable business dealings have demonstrated his contempt for contracts and solemn promises. Trump’s refusal to acknowledge collective security as set out in the founding Washington Treaty’s Article 5 signals the evisceration of NATO.

. . .

Donald Trump’s reversal of America’s post-World War II foreign policy to favour Vladimir Putin defies rational explanation, raising speculation about possibly compromising episodes in his past career. Equally plausible is the notion that Trump and his MAGA activists see the EU and its members as ideological adversaries who must be defied.

@ElwoodBlues You find those "less than 100" American citizens abandoned to the raghead terrorists yet?

senghenydd · M
@sunsporter1649 Yes surely something after three hours of talks will have come out of the talks held on Friday, OMG I hope and pray there'll be peace soon, worse thing is this could esculate into a "Bloody World War" if this can't be sorted out.
@sunsporter1649 Arming NATO?? ROTFL!!!
Tяump spent his first term threatening to withdraw from NATO! And, according to Tяump's national security advisor, Putin only held of attacking Ukraine that long because he was hoping Tяump would withdraw from NATO!!

Tяump is doing his best to DESTROY NATO!!!
justanothername · 51-55, M
@ElwoodBlues Apparently Trump is going to do that via Article 5 of the NATO pact which allows European NATO members to defend Ukraine when it gets attacked even though Ukraine is not yet a NATO member. Trump is doing this because it allows the US to sell weapons to NATO which effectively means Trump is financially benefiting from the war and appearing to put America first at the sane time.
justanothername · 51-55, M
@sunsporter1649 He’s not actually arming NATO, he’s selling them weapons. Arming NATO would be providing those weapons free of charge.
