Conservatives never believed in those things. I recognize there is a difference between the so-called moderate Conservatives and the globalist ideological Conservatives, but in practice, it's always been more about the movement. And the movement is authoritarian in nature.
Even the part about free markets is a lie. Conservatism was founded as a compromise when Capitalism became the law of the land. What the Right actually wants is a return to Feudalism. Liberals are ideologically capitalist, while Conservatives see Capitalism as a temporary tool.
