(Sorry these are not my best photographs, but I was using a cheap credit card size digital cameras that you can buy for like 30 bucks)

I just want to sleep all day

This the new ginseng garden marked out and started putting post in the ground.

I do that for 7hrs in the morning till it's time to go fo my job for 9 hrs at night

That's whY you don't see me hardly anymore

Corn I planted in the spring the ginseng is going be planted at the end of this corn

If you look close enough you can see orange wooden stakes markers that mark out where to put the post

Laying out post next to the orange wooden stakes

This is what the post like pounded in and we still have like 380 more post to layout and pound in yet

Thats the John Deere and Post Pounder

Close up veiw of the post pounder

It takes two people to pound post. One person to drive tractor and the other to stand-up post and operate the controls.

We do trade off and take turns

Yes ginseng gets planted in the late fall before winter. Because the seeds need to have hard freeze before they can germinate

Anyone else want to do this

@HumanEarth looks like us
HumanEarth · F
Yep, I'm the one with the beard
WowwGirl · 36-40, F
@HumanEarth I was going to let you pick
Reason10 · 70-79, M
@HumanEarth Ginseng?

I HOPE YOU MAKE AN ABSOLUTE FORTUNE ON THAT.

God bless you!
HumanEarth · F
@Reason10 We used to make great money with ginseng before 2018/19 now we are making shit. That's why everyone has to get jobs off to the farm to make it and hope the market turns around
Reason10 · 70-79, M
@HumanEarth It's a shame that farm isn't in Florida. You could have switched that crop to cannabis and made a fortune.

I know a local seafood shack who converted a lot of land from saw palmetto to cannabis. Now they are making more money from cannibinols than seafood.
HumanEarth · F
Many ginseng growers tried hemp here and went bankrupt because they kept changing the laws on it.

I have a feeling that where I might be heading to. If this market stays this bad
WowwGirl · 36-40, F
@HumanEarth my friends do well in California and Colorado. You can basically drop sell to stores.
HumanEarth · F
I really do appreciate the help you're are trying to offer. But the trutg is, I don't have time for that. That's why I have commercial root buyers. We have hard enough time finding labor for the big jobs around harvest time

Selling direct to stores is new area and going to need licensing, permits and a separate LLC to do it legally.

Plus another thing, frankly I don't have the energy to go into that market with no experience in direct selling
WowwGirl · 36-40, F
@HumanEarth understand
WillaKissing · 56-60, M
@HumanEarth @WowwGirl Naturally he would pick the bearded one.
WillaKissing · 56-60, M
@WowwGirl Ye state your state allows you to grow the cannabis. It is the individual states and there growing and licensing laws that either make growing cannabis legal/possible/feasible or not.
WillaKissing · 56-60, M
@HumanEarth Will you set it up to have a rotational crop?
Like first year second year third year harvests and so forth replanting the sections you harvest the same year you harvest them.

You should have God's plenty of good ground freeze there; hell has it thawed out yet?
