Trump DOJ Breaks Record with $14.6B Healthcare Fraud Bust, Charges 324 Defendants

The Trump administration just delivered a knockout punch to healthcare fraudsters. In what officials are calling the “largest coordinated healthcare fraud takedown in the history of the Department of Justice,” over 300 defendants now face charges for attempting to steal a staggering $14.6 billion from taxpayers.

President Donald Trump’s Department of Justice conducted the largest health care fraud takedown in the agency’s history, involving $14.6 billion in intended losses.

The DOJ announced on Monday that it has filed criminal charges against 324 individuals — including 96 doctors, nurses, pharmacists, and other medical professionals — for their alleged participation in the scams…

Additionally, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services prevented more than $4 billion in fraudulent claims and revoked billing privileges for 205 providers.

Attorney General Pam Bondi didn’t mince words about the administration’s stance. “Make no mistake — this administration will not tolerate criminals who line their pockets with taxpayer dollars while endangering the health and safety of our communities,” she declared.

I’d be curious to read more details of this. I’ve had numerous doctors tell me their way to get health care companies to pay for things through the way they code things. I assume they do the same with medicare and medicaid. The ones that I know of are doing this for patients who need care except some insurance loophole prevents them from providing it. Example when a patient desperately needs some kind of surgery, but insurance says they must try several pharmaceutical solutions first. So they write two scripts for a patient, tell them not to take it, then bill the insurance company for surgery a month later. My personal opinion: the rise in autism diagnoses has to do with doctors knowing that if a kid is on the spectrum, the parents can get all kinds of services covered by law. So now you get kids who bite their nails labeled autistic, and suddenly they get OT covered (speaking from personal experience here)

@trollslayer Details aren't important in MAGA land... it's always been quantity over quality.
