I mean, I kinda figured that when he invoked wartime legislation to get rid of some Venezuelans on specious claims of them being gang members. It was the same legislation used to intern Japanese Americans on the grounds that they were enemies of the state.
From what I've gathered, there was no real investigation into whether the men deported to El Salvador were actually Tren de Aragua. They weren't found with any weapons, drugs, or stolen goods. They didn't have a criminal record. They weren't given a trial. It was basically just some DHS agents not liking their tattoos. Looking at their list of criteria is a joke. All the tats they said were gang-related is just ink that's popular with young Hispanics.

@TinyViolins there is a huge difference between what the US did to Japanese in US at the time, even though we all agree now it was wrong. The only war we have with undocumented people exist in the twisted minds of MAGA followers.

@samueltyler2 That's literally my point. He used wartime legislation when there was never any war. Their justification for it is just one little video clip they play over and over on Fox News showing like 3 supposed gang members in one little apartment outside of Denver. Local police are on record saying that it was an isolated incident. The landlord who started the allegations of a takeover doesn't even live in the same time zone. But leave it up to Trump to take a fake story and run with it.
