Yes, that is the reason the office exists. And no he doesn't know that it's his job to uphold it.

I would take any bet that he has never read it from start to finish. I'm sure some people have explained or tried to explain parts of it to him.
Nanoose · 70-79, M
I think he does know that he has to uphold the constitution. But getting away with not upholding the constitution and breaking laws is like his heroin (he can’t get enough of it) so he will keeping doing it. Cheers!

The Constitution is a great document when it supports the President’s view but inconvenient when it doesn’t. He seems to have a particular need to explore the limitations of his Executive authority. His mantra being “see you in court.”
Corporalcolleague · 61-69, M
@markinkansas understood but can the courts block the administration from acting in certain ways? Of course that also falls on Congress to have the balls to be a truly co-equal branch of government. Guess we will see

@Corporalcolleague who controls congress.. this was in the planning for many years .. first change the media.. fox news worked for combating cnn news .. then start voting in people in a ranges of jobs from post office . city workers. .. interesting read is project 2025

That should be a requisite for any president or prime-minister of any country, irrespective of party and system... shouldn't it?

Trump needs to ask Stephen Miller first.

Do Americans know that their Constitution is only an idea, a basic premise from which to live by as a citizen of the USA?
Kwek00 · 41-45, M
@SandWitch Didn't I add: "AS LONG as all of the branches of governement uphold it."?
SandWitch · 26-30, F
@Kwek00
Yes you did add "AS LONG"! ...but of itself in those quoted words, turns your illusion of a so-called "guarantee" into nothing but an "idea" if every department doesn't uphold the law, which of course is what Americans are experiencing right now as their Constitution as been relegated to a state of total irrelevancy due to the recent uprising of the Trump Administration and it's fascist, authoritarian non-constitutional form of governance that Americans actually voted for... not once, but twice!
Kwek00 · 41-45, M
@SandWitch An idea can be a pretty strong thing though... I would even classify this "idea" as a "believe". As long as there are people out there that believe in this document, there is a chance to oppose what needs to be opposed.

I also don't think a lot of Americans voted for: "fascist, authoritarian non-constitutional form of governance". There is a base, that depending on studies is somewhere between 27-35 percent of the public that actively believes this stuff. But voters ussually just have 1 or 2 issues in there head, they aren't really concious about all the rest.
