@KunsanVeteran are you referring to the violent ICE agents?
KunsanVeteran · M
@samueltyler2 Of course!
samueltyler2 · 80-89, M
@KunsanVeteran okay, you had me worried. They also arrested several US citizens because of profiling.
KunsanVeteran · M
@samueltyler2 True! Did you read my post yesterday about what happened to my Filipina wife last Monday?
samueltyler2 · 80-89, M
@KunsanVeteran i may have missed it. Are you marching in protest tomorrow?
KunsanVeteran · M
@samueltyler2 I am packing now to take a Space A flight to Joint Base Andrews to protest the parade.

@Construction I wish I still had my uniform to wear at the No King match tomorrow, to show a real veteran who served the country feels.

@KunsanVeteran @samueltyler2
I am reposting so that you can see why this is personal now to me. Then I’m out the door to get to the base for my flight.
I am going to relate a story that affected my immediate family this very week.
My spouse is a Filipina who became a naturalized citizen in 1980. We have been married since 1990 and I am a retired USAF officer.
On Monday, June 9th, I was out of town mowing one of our properties and a county policeman came to our home. When my wife answered the door he asked if she was ———- and gave her maiden name. Her maiden name has a Spanish origin (very common in the PI). He claimed that “they” had received a missing person report re: her. He asked to see ID and she showed him her retired military spouse ID and he asked for another form of ID so she then showed him her driver’s license. He then went to his patrol car and spoke briefly on the radio. Then came back and returned her IDs and said “you’re good.”
There is absolutely no reason any neighbor, friend, relative, acquaintances would have said that she was missing. And why use her maiden name when we have been married over 35 years?
Had I been here when this happened I would have been livid. I strongly suspect that she was targeted by her maiden name. Hopefully this incident is closed, but if there are any further repercussions I will report them here.

@KunsanVeteran i am glad it didn't escalate further. I suppose the story is related to some bigot who saw her and put their noses into your home.

@KunsanVeteran well...I was trying to be a little nicer, seems some peoples here think I am mean. I am with you100%!

@samueltyler2 The thing is, he used her maiden name. We have been married since 1990. None of our neighbors know her maiden name. I have a more than nagging suspicion that this dates back to the private information DOGE was given access to—this resembles the “quasi” legal knock & talks that law enforcement uses to trick people that they have no legitimate reason to question. If this were a legitimate welfare check, they would not have required two official IDs.
If nothing more comes of this, then we won’t pursue it. We want nothing more than to be left alone. But if they push our buttons, we’ll go after this in court with the expectation of some crooked officers being fired and perhaps criminally charged.

@WalksWith Thank you. She is a wonderful woman who does not deserve to be harassed by bigots.

@KunsanVeteran my daughter, a physician, never changed her name after marrying. That drive her husband nuts. She was very much in love with him, and we had a good relationship with his parents. Unfortunately, he became emotionally abusive and they divorced. Her new husband is marvelous and is a better father to her daughters then their biological father ever was.

@samueltyler2 That sounds like a happy ending for everyone! Thank you for sharing some encouraging words!

@KunsanVeteran it certainly feels that way now! We call her ex the sperm donor!
