And you think its a coincidence they are shipping out all the undocumented people, so those low paying jobs will be available?

Minimum wage jobs were never meant to support a family and pay a mortgage. These jobs have been held by teens and young adults still living with their parents. I had one for a year, made $2.50 an hour with it. Afterward, I went to college to train for a decent-paying professional career, while also working a full-time job that paid a bit more than minimum wage. Definitely cut into party attendance and stuff like that but the plan worked out in the end.

Paying a higher minimum wage unfortunately impacts product and service cost thus raising prices. This in turn leaves people who thought they had more money in the same position as before.
Redistribution of wealth by a percentage based tax regime in concert with social support for low incomes attempts to address this.
Scholarships and other educational support also attempt to lift new generations beyond minimum wage jobs.
It’s not perfect but alternatives also have negative impacts.

I think some very rich people think that min. wage jobs are only the domain of kids in high school or college looking for a little spending money, moms making a little extra for the household, or older people "keeping busy"...
They have no idea how it affects ppl.

@graphite
So you saw a list of one side, and think that covers all billionaires? lmao
Have you not heard that the Republican party is still pushing supply side economics? lmao They are made for the rich.
You also are confusing "very rich" with "billionaire"; while the latter are of course very rich, there are lots of very rich people who are not billionaires.
When I went to college, there were a lot of people who, by normal American standards, were "very rich" in that they had no idea of what/who "the poor" were (they thought that the upper middle class was "poor"). These were the same people who actually believed that the only difference between the "poor" and their dads making serious money back then was that the poor needed to simply "get a job". lol

All the right-wingers have, of course, missed the point of my post entirely - deliberately or otherwise.

Cant get a better job the ones im qualified for and which pay enough to survive are all held down by post retirement age boomers. Refusing to retire.
Musicman · 61-69, M
Minimum wage jobs were designed for kids and people entering the work force. At least that was my thought. Why would anyone stay at a Job for years and never get a raise???
StygianKohlrabi · 46-50, M
why haven't they moved up the career ladder after decades?
exchrist · 31-35
@StygianKohlrabi some have but still wont retire. Others dont want more already have enough had kids in the job paid well when they got hired. Now if pays the bills and theyre already established.

Maybe they are just too lazy to try and better themselves.
