America has moved to a soviet-style economy

The american government administration is now dictating how much Walmart can charge for its goods.

When america was a free country the market decided prices, but now Central Planning (run by trump and bessent) will make those decisions.

That didn't take long!

@BrandNewMan about what?
@newjaninev2 Pressing companies not to pass on cost increases to custo.ers is not having every decision run through Trump /Bessent. Biden did the same during covid and he /Harris were supposedly going to once they figured out everyone blamed them for inflated prices and saw they did not care. This is no different .. so cut the exaggerations and lies.

@BrandNewMan ... I agree btw, this isn't a planned economy. But then you had to say this:

Biden did the same during covid and he /Harris were supposedly going to once they figured out everyone blamed them for inflated prices and saw they did not care.

Is this some kind of alternate timeline? Of can you back this up and did I just miss it?

@BrandNewMan This is an extra tax imposed on american consumers as a deliberate policy.

Now that americans are realising that trump lied and the burden will fall on them and the tax will go to the government's coffers the trump régime is trying to paper over the lies and consequences.

Walmart, the country's largest retailer, said it could no longer hold the line and would have to raise prices on some products in the coming weeks.

On Saturday, Trump warned Walmart against it, demanding in a Truth Social post that the company "eat the tariffs."

“I’ll be watching, and so will your customers!!!” he posted.

So-called 'tariff costs' are, of course, trumps new taxes on american consumers. To hide his blunder he's trying to personally control the (formerly) free market.

@BrandNewMan The difference being that cost increases during Biden's presidency were not needlessly inflicted by his government's economic policy. You must admit, Trump has quite a nerve . .
@SunshineGirl At least he's trying to address unfair trade restrictions .. Biden was just spending like a drunk 20 yr old w her first credit card. I'll take some pain it it brings change that's long overdue. You dont live here .. so your opinion on it is of zero value to me.

@BrandNewMan He spent on infrastructure, social welfare, education . . public goods that benefited everyone and stimulated economic growth.

Meanwhile the Republican party is preparing an unfunded finance bill that may add $3.7tn to the national debt over the next ten years . .

@BrandNewMan I'm sorry... but what exactly make you believe that Donald Trump isn't spending? ... The last time he was in power he promised to diminish the national debt... and he added more then 7 trillion, during an economic boom.
@Kwek00

Nice try .. every administration spends .. Biden was giving people who hadnt lost a job more than std unemployment, giving money and support to millions of illegal immigrants .. The big blip yr for Trump was 1st year of covid
