"By not trading, we're not losing anything."

Trump said that ....today....in the Oval.

Trump is delusional.

Well, by folding and not betting on that hand, we didn't lose anything on that hand except the ante, of course.

Of course, we didn't win anything, and we might not have a seat at the table for the next hand, especially when the other players get tired of us whining about cheating all the time.

@MistyCee And that last is exactly what America is losing big time every day now. An invitation to play in the next game.. And for a trading nation that needs imports to survive that is a severe loss.😷

Trading for sport and being neighborly about it in the process is one thing, but Trading because one's country is wholly dependent on another country's natural resources is quite another thing that Trump hasn't caught up with yet.

What Trump still doesn't know, yet every Canadian is well-aware of is that Canada has already made arrangements with other nations to buy every drop of oil Canada can export, in addition to every roll of high-grade aluminum that Canada can produce annually since Trump said today that the USA needs neither of from Canada.

Canada doesn't need the USA because there isn't anything in the USA that Canada doesn't already have on it's own shelves except for orange juice I suppose, but the USA desperately needs Canada because America has virtually no natural resources of it's own except for coal and small deposits of lithium, but virtually no crude oil at all anymore except for 'strategic oil reserves' up around Alaska which of course are for emergency use only.

Trump seems to think that becoming a protectionist isolationist country, that America can get along just fine on it's own. It was tariffs and a protectionist mentality that prevailed in America after the WW1 that led to the Great Depression of 1929 plus 10 years of abject poverty throughout the USA that followed.

@sunsporter1649 Their prices will be going up as the import their product. Or there locally made stuff isnt up to military spec.. Which wouldnt surprise me..😷
He actually believes the purchase price of goods from another country is a loss. If you buy a Mazda the US has been taken advantage of. If companies buy steel to make cars, another loss.
