Pretty much the same irony as eviro-friend Mark Kelly selling his tesla and getting a Tahoe huh?
marybmom · 31-35, F
@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow Allow me to ask your opinion. Would it be a better statement to say I've introduced 10 pieces of legislation to limit the reach of DOGE republicans refuse to vote on any of them, or I sold a used car to stick it to DOGE.
@marybmom The donors are the problem. Nobody wants to vote for the party of out of touch billionaires.

Again Kelly is backing his views with action. As for passing bills or ditching a car. Walking your walk generally means both.

Stuff like that that are high visibility matter too. Voting for that legislation benefits people long term. But the reality is the average voter who is not actively engaged all the time will get bored the minute you start talking about legislation because they have no idea what those bills are about because Democrats suck at messaging and assume the average American will read a 200 page bill and don't tell their voters what they are doing for them.

The gestures that get air time on TV is what the average joe normie remembers.

Selling your car to make a statement sticks with people. Expecting them to remember he voted for a bill that lowered inflation by 2% (just an example) is not the sort of thing that sticks with people who only engage during election season.

Typically you fail to understand us. We don't care if our car is electric or not. We care if it is viable. Electric cars are less viable than internal combustion. It's that simple. We also don't care about carbon. A vehicle could produce no carbon or it could produce a lot of carbon. It makes no difference to us. We know carbon and climate change is just a scam to fleece the population of their money and gain power and control. I won't be buying a Tesla or any other modern car as they are a misapplication of technology. They break down and cost far too much to fix. I don't need my car to drive me around or heat my seat or wipe my butt for me. I need a user fixable and field applicable vehicle that fits with the work I'm doing at the time.

LOL!

This on the day it's been announced Mr. Musk has written to Mr. Trump (or at any rate the Government) pointing out those tariffs could harm the industries they are supposed to encourage!

Ii seem to recall Mr. Trump was fairly vocal in dismissing climate-change in his first go at being President. It was soon obvious why, as he also first raised the subject of the USA taking over Greenland - though I think he used the verb "buy" at the time.

Strange how words change their meanings over time. When woke was coined it was positive, part of resistance to prejudice; it's now more often used very negatively and perjoratively.

A lot of conservative business people in Texas who have been hoovering up public subsidy for green energy schemes via the Inflation Reduction Act, also seem to be strangely converted to climate change ⚡

@sunsporter1649 Absolutely. They are a woke illusion created by Biden to seditiously disturb Mr Trump's toupee.

@SunshineGirl 👍🤣

@sunsporter1649 🤦🏻

@SunshineGirl If only this wasn't a reply, you would get best comment right there.
Using their own metric, isn't saying "go woke, go broke" illegal? Isn't boycotting companies they see as woke, illegal?

@CountScrofula I do think his politics have moved rightwards but I agree that the liberal politics were window dressing when Obama was in power

He's always hated unions and regulation. He's always had a Messiah complex.

I say DOGE as evidence of that he's been persuaded by the he idea of network states and techno-feudalism.
CountScrofula · 41-45, M
@Burnley123 Yeah I agree that he's a very clear recent convert rather than say a covert feudalist this whole time.

He was a pure neoliberal beforehand
If Jesus Felon wears a diaper...........they do. If he wears a band aid on his ear.......they cult does. If he was grifiting a dog turd special...2 for $1000.....the cult would buy them. Problem with Teslas is most of his cult lives in poverty ridden Red States.........so buying a $90,000 vehicle might hold them back............but lord knows if they could sell their house trailer for $90,000 to buy one.......they probably would.
