@4meAndyou The only foreign booze I enjoy is Grey Goose Vodka. But I am going to switch to Tito's or Skyy. See how easy that was? The 50% on US whisky is a knee jerk reaction to Trump's reciprocal tariffs. They'll end it or it won't even begin.

@carpediem I used to drink Grey Goose, and then the French ticked me off...can't even remember why, and I switched to Ketel One, which is comparable. I've had Skyy, and it's not really that good. I would go with the Tito's.
@carpediem re grey goose. i cant believe the price difference between it in canada and us. when i was in the states visiting it was barely more than a lower end vodka. up here i wouldn't be surprised it's almost double. it's not worth it especially if one mixes it. i told a friend who came over he couldnt taste the difference between goose and coke vs smirnoff and coke. he said pfft yeah i can. he brought over goose and i made the drinks. little did he know i had smirnoff....i poured mine with goose and his with smirnoff....he never knew 🤣

@4meAndyou I deal with the French in business on a regular weekly basis. I like the French. They are a bit odd with some of the wacky labor laws they have. But in my opinion, they're much more reliable in business than the Brits or Europeans in general.

@beermeplease Smirnoff has a sharp edge to it that I can detect. I have to dilute it a LOT to be able to enjoy it.

@beermeplease It looks like perhaps Canada has had a larger tariff on European vodka than the US had. I recall being in Paris and couple times and the French wine was so cheap, it was unbelievable. California wine was super expensive.

@carpediem My beef with them was a long time ago. They were boycotting our grapes or California wines...or something. Danged if I can really remember now.
@carpediem our own booze is heavily taxed. it's disgusting. there were even interprovincial restrictions on certain products. like albertans could not get wine from bc...
