Americans have not indicated that they oppose killing the ecosystem with electric cars. Americans do not vote as if they want anything to change. Efficiency and cars certainly make a strange contrast, contradiction - but nobody here would ever object to cars - they think geometry imposed the cars on us and simply ignore the children killed and the social problems from cars! In fact, I only - just one person - ever, me alone,- I'm the only person who thinks things ought to change - to include public transportation and housing in walkable cities. Only me. Everyone here besides me never even talks about any of that. Never.
A little free publicity from tRump isn't going to save Tesla. Tesla stock has lost half it's value - roughly $800 billion - in the last three months.
Tesla has lost a vast amount good will among both investors and buyers. And that loss of good will was entirely foreseeable, entirely due Musk politicizing himself.
If I were a Tesla investor I'd be demanding Musk's immediate resignation. He's providing only NEGATIVE value to the company.
