And a recent poll giving Trumps current administration a 47.7% means only Bush and son have made it out the 40’s. Why do you think the general approval for the office of the president is so often below 50%? I mean, you can’t please all of the people all of the time, but I’d like to think opinion polls are not dictated entirely by political tribalism.

The Bushes had enormous rah rah America war efforts to boost their approval. I think Dubya went from 90% to 25%.
Otherwise, only a third of the electorate really end up voting in the sitting President and most of the job of the President is maintaining a status quo. Usually a status quo that overall worsens. Same reason why congress is so widely detested.
