Jasmine Crockett Claims Entering America Illegally is ‘Not a Crime’

Democrat firebrand Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX) has once again sparked controversy after incorrectly stating on MSNBC that entering the United States illegally is not a crime, despite federal law clearly defining it as a criminal offense.

During an appearance on MSNBC with host Katie Phang, Crockett made the disputed claim, stating, “It is not a criminal violation to enter the country illegally… it’s not a crime.”

She further suggested that Republican officials want local law enforcement to “round up people when they could be looking out for the murderers and the sex abusers.”

Crockett also directed criticism at President Donald Trump, saying, “Don’t give me this fake outrage about criminals roaming our streets when you guys stand ten toes down for the biggest criminal we have ever seen go into the White House.”

Under federal law, unauthorized entry into the United States is indeed classified as a criminal offense because it is punishable by imprisonment.

Individuals who enter the country unlawfully can face both criminal and civil penalties under current immigration laws.

Resist the Mainstream reported that Crockett issued a scathing rebuke against Trump last week, claiming he is an “enemy” of the U.S. “As far as I am concerned, he is an enemy to the United States,” she said during an interview with MSNBC.

“He swore an oath just like the rest of us, but right now, when you are literally putting us at risk because you want to convince your followers that you should be a dictator too, that you should never leave the White House? Because you don’t believe that elections should take place? I don’t really understand what is going on, and I don’t know what it’s going to take to get people to wake up,” she claimed.

The laws that are enforced are the ones she and her fellow politicians write and approve , don't like it change it
@MarineBob Showing up at a border checkpoint and requesting asylum is specifically allowed by the Immigration Reform and Control Act (IRCA) of 1986.

@ElwoodBlues Tell that to Rachel Morin's family
@sunsporter1649 Are you denying that Showing up at a border checkpoint and requesting asylum is specifically allowed by the Immigration Reform and Control Act (IRCA) of 1986? Are you saying it's illegal to request asylum??

Oh, wait, you're just attempting to change the subject, thereby admitting you've lost the debate LOL!!!

@ElwoodBlues Guatamala directly abuts the USA, right?
@sunsporter1649 Oh, wait, you're STILL attempting to change the subject, thereby admitting you've lost the debate LOL!!!

Showing up at a border checkpoint and requesting asylum is NOT a crime. It is specifically allowed by the Immigration Reform and Control Act (IRCA) of 1986, signed into law by Ronald Reagan, a great advocate of immigration.

I agree that the 1986 IRCA is obsolete; we've needed to overhaul our immigration laws for over 20 years. It takes an act of Congress; will this Congress do anything??

@ElwoodBlues We4 know, illegal immigration is not illegal immigration, it's a boost to the economy and a reducer of crime, right?

@ElwoodBlues Is that why you so strongly supported HR 2?
@sunsporter1649 I supported the bipartisan Senate bill. It had such a good chance of passage that it terrified your orange god.

UPDATE

All bills require compromise; however the specifics of a bill can be debated and amended during debate. The Senate bill is the closest we've come to immigration overhaul. Now its the republicans' turn to offer a bill with a chance of passing.

@ElwoodBlues Yeah, 5,000 illegal unvetted aliens per day is a grand plan, right?

@sunsporter1649 that's where the measels came from along with the covid dis-ease
@MarineBob If a population isn't 95% vaccinated, they will be fertile ground for a measles outbreak. Anti-vaxxers spreading disinformation have caused enough people to forego vaccines that now we have measles outbreaks. And an anti-vaxxer heading DHHS only makes it worse.

@ElwoodBlues maybe hhs should've been more honest with American Citizens

@ElwoodBlues President Joe Biden tested positive for COVID today, the White House announced. The positive test comes several months after Biden received his second booster shot in March. This would mean Biden has had four vaccine doses and still tested positive for COVID.

“This morning, President Biden tested positive for COVID. He is fully vaccinated and twice boosted and experiencing very mild symptoms,” White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre wrote in a statement. “He has begun taking Paxlovid.”

Biden’s positive test comes exactly one year to the day when he assured the American public that if you were vaccinated, you wouldn’t get the virus. He said this in Ohio during a town hall about the pandemic hosted by CNN’s Don Lemon.

“You’re not going to get COVID if you have these vaccinations,” Biden said on July 21, 2021. One year later, he did.
@sunsporter1649 The original vaccine provided complete protection to 95% of subjects who took it. After the virus started mutating, the vaccine still provided partial protection.

In 2021, the 75% of Americans fully vaccinated produced under 20% of the Covid deaths, while the 25% unvaccinated Americans produced over 80% of the Covid deaths.

In 2021, the 75% of Americans fully vaccinated produced under 31% of Covid cases; while the 25% unvaccinated Americans produced nearly 70% of Covid cases.

This means the US unvaccinated had a 5X higher chance of contracting Covid compared to the vaccinated per capita, and that overall the unvaccinated had about a 15X higher probability of Covid death per capita.
