Not only in Oregon but other states as well.
The Pros
It will replace a few of the jobs he has taken from others, definitely cut down on forest fires in some places.

The Cons
Less refuge for wildlife, unprotected endangered species of trees, and it's good the world has plenty of trees without them there would be no oxygen. But that's for the next generation to worry about it seems.

Just don't volunteer to be a chain choker.
Quite a few fingers lost if fingers caught as tension quickly tightens as skidder or high-lead pulls that log away...

It may seem old yet it's a related issue...

Chinese billionaire owns hundreds of thousands of acres of Oregon timberland, report reveals

By Alex Baumhardt (Oregon Capital Chronicle)
Jan. 21, 2024 6 a.m.

Tianqiao Chen, with nearly 200,000 acres in Oregon, is the second largest foreign owner of U.S. land, according to land ownership publication The Land Report. His stake has drawn ire from an Oregon Republican.

A Chinese billionaire and a California timber family have become among the largest private landowners in the U.S. following major purchases of Oregon forests.

Look for lobbying in both states by the whole family.

Trump knows this. Billionaires, especially Chinese billionaires, are his friends.

True, but the forests have been left unchecked for years. That has been a big part of Californias wild fire problem. They need to thin out some of the old dead stuff.

@Musicman Actually, as an ACTUAL forester, I can tell you MOST issues come from lack of wild or prescribed fire for 125+ years, couple with changes in precipitation regimes. Fuels built up.

In most areas in US Native Americans long used fire that encourage berries, reduced fuels, etc. Anglos thought all fire was bad, despite there being human and wild fire over the eons.

Prescribed fire budgets have always been the first to be cut.

Trump never took any jobs from anyone, he stopped fraud. It's not a job if you're a criminal.

@HobNoblin you keep believing that
HobNoblin · 36-40, M
@Charity Why I do! Yes I certainly do! Go DOGE! stop the fraud, give that money to our military and to build that wall!

I mean repubs had no brains to begin with so lack of oxygen isn't a concern.
