Not only in Oregon but other states as well.
The Pros
It will replace a few of the jobs he has taken from others, definitely cut down on forest fires in some places.

The Cons
Less refuge for wildlife, unprotected endangered species of trees, and it's good the world has plenty of trees without them there would be no oxygen. But that's for the next generation to worry about it seems.

True, but the forests have been left unchecked for years. That has been a big part of Californias wild fire problem. They need to thin out some of the old dead stuff.

@Musicman Actually, as an ACTUAL forester, I can tell you MOST issues come from lack of wild or prescribed fire for 125+ years, couple with changes in precipitation regimes. Fuels built up.

In most areas in US Native Americans long used fire that encourage berries, reduced fuels, etc. Anglos thought all fire was bad, despite there being human and wild fire over the eons.

Prescribed fire budgets have always been the first to be cut.
