For $5 million, people will be able to apply to become US permanent residents. Is Trump transforming America into a bordello patronized by moneybags?

Ditching DEI for a merit-based society sounds good. Meritocracy, however, can refer to any form of evaluation based on achievement. Trump has a lust for wealth. He considers the national debt, the legacy of his inapt predecessors, a stain on his presidency. He doesn't want bad people streaming across US borders unless they have the money to make America wealthy again.

There are no investigations even for any green card application by USCIS. You answer the questions asked and they will be accepted at face value. Just don't do any thing foolish that warrants an investigation. Lying to the US Government is a criminal offense that invalidates right to US citizenship. If you get booted out, you will be stateless.

Investment implies making money. The US has more opportunities to make money. If you can make money, you can afford to pay the taxes.

This is not true. I can wire money to my foreign bank accounts. I owned properties in Europe and Asia. How could I buy them without transferring money from the US to pay for them?

What assets are you talk about? Every asset class has to be and is reducible to hard cash for moving out of the US. Of course, the money will be traced and tracked by the US Government. This capability extends to tracking non-citizens of interest to the USA.
