How the Trump-Starmer meeting on Thursday will play out
US President Donald Trump says UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer "has done a very good job thus far" and the pair have "a very strong relationship".
2.30pm: traditional exchange of gifts. Starmer (signed Arsenal football shirt). Trump (limited edition pack of 12 plastic MAGA drinking straws, RRP $15).
2.35pm: Trump tells everyone that he was Queen Elizabeth II's "favourite president ever".
2:40pm: Starmer tells Trump that his father was a toolmaker. Reaffirms the UK's commitment to a strong, independent Ukraine.
3:00pm: meeting concludes. White House press release describes a "positive and constructive strengthening of the important trans-Atlantic relationship".
3:25pm: Trump posts on Truth Social that Starmer is a "loser" and a closet Marxist.
3:27pm: Elon Musk tweets that Starmer has no democratic mandate and calls for a new government to be formed via an opinion poll posted on X. Adds that HRH King Charles III is an illegal Muslim immigrant and "probably a pedo as well".
He wants the US army to put itself between the Ukrainian and Russian army....with Starmer with the king's personal guard of like 40 men and 5 tanks and pretend he is in command.
