Trump tariffs for the security of America.

A neocon would be planning military action against any nation who presented the major threats of fentanyl, illegal alien crime, etc.

President Trump, on the other hand, is handling these DIRECT THREATS to America's safety like a businessman.

https://www.foxnews.com/politics/trump-signs-tariffs-imports-canada-mexico-china-national-emergency

President Donald Trump signed an executive order authorizing the tariffs Saturday, which will go into effect Tuesday, consisting of a 25% additional tariff on imports from Canada and Mexico and a 10% tariff on imports from China.

Energy resources from Canada will have a lower 10% tariff, according to the White House. In a statement obtained by Fox News Saturday, the Trump administration said the legislation is a response to an "extraordinary threat posed by illegal aliens and drugs, including deadly fentanyl, (that) constitutes a national emergency."

George W. Bush started a shooting war in Iraq based on Hussein harboring Al Qaeda in that country. DemoNazi neocons like HIllary KKKlinton supported that war, (one which THE DONALD opposed.)

https://www.newsmax.com/world/globaltalk/white-house-donald-trump-tariffs/2025/02/01/id/1197446/

The Trump administration put the tariffs in place to force the three countries to stop the spread and manufacturing of fentanyl, in addition to pressuring Canada and Mexico to limit any illegal immigration into the United States.

The official did not provide specific benchmarks that could be met to lift the new tariffs, saying only that the best measure would be fewer Americans dying from fentanyl addition.

Tom Homan has dredged out over 7400 illegal alien animals over the past 9 days, and THESE WERE ALL DANGEROUS CRIMINALS.

Unelected Joe let TEN MILLION of these animals in the country. That's larger than the population of the state of New Jersey.

These animals have been coming from Mexico and Canada. Fentanyl has been coming from China.

Those are ACTS OF WAR,the number of DEATHS in this country from Fentanyl alone.

For those of you who somehow want to believe these farting cows

when they say the tariffs will cause items to increase in price, maybe you should grow a brain for a moment.

1. Trump is going to ramp up domestic energy production (which unelected Joe shut down) so within nine months or so gasoline prices will plummet and the cost of transporting goods will drop.

2.Not getting an item from ONE country (that is threatening our security) doesn't mean we can't get that product from another country or manufacture it in the United States. Some builders depend on Canadian Timber. Gee! They'll just have to buy AMERICAN timber.

3. Mexican made cars? A 15 percent tariff? Gee! Talk to the United Auto Workers union in Detroit about all those extra jobs in making AMERICAN AUTOMOBILES. Ask any laid off auto worker in Detroit if he truly enjoys flipping burgers for McDonalds.

4. And again, Canada, Mexico And China have committed acts of WAR against this country for sending those illegal aliens here along with the drugs that have killed MILLIONS.

Maybe a Democrat would have threatened them with a military incursion. PRESIDENT TRUMP is going to get results like a businessman.

We can debate whether Canada and Mexico are responsible for the fentanyl but the tariffs are absolutely nothing to do with that.

On the subject of neocons (who are not suggesting invading Mexico or Canada) I ask you this:

Did you vote for them?

I ask because the American right (including neocons) were instrumental in bringing about globalised neoliberalism. You now say that this is the problem and better late than never.

Given how much of a hardcore conservative you are: I'd place a bet that you voted for Reagan and both Bushes. If I'm wrong about you personally, I am right about the majority of MAGA.

@Reason10 No answer? I was right.
@Reason10 I see, you're going down the route of the genetic fallacy, rejecting the data because you disagree with a political position of the source. OK, let's get you some more sources.

The FACTS I presented are also available at many other places. Here are a few examples:

● https://www.kff.org/quick-take/most-sentenced-for-trafficking-fentanyl-are-u-s-citizens/
● https://azcir.org/news/2024/08/23/are-undocumented-immigrants-the-primary-source-of-fentanyl-trafficking-across-us-mexico-border-no/
● https://www.newsnationnow.com/us-news/immigration/border-coverage/report-u-s-citizens-majority-of-2022-fentanyl-trafficking-cases/

Let's just quote US Customs & Border Protection:
More than 90% of interdicted fentanyl is stopped at Ports of Entry (POEs), where cartels attempt to smuggle it primarily in vehicles driven by U.S. citizens. CBP and HSI throughout the past two years have run operations that mobilized hundreds of personnel – CBP officers, special agents, import specialists, and intelligence analysts – through surges and deployments at Southwest Border POEs, airports, express consignment facilities, international mail facilities, container stations, and warehouses across the country.
https://www.cbp.gov/border-security/frontline-against-fentanyl

In short, @Reason10, you are still DEAD WRONG!!!
It's still true that the vast majority of fentanyl is smuggled by US citizens for US citizens thru official checkpoints.

Lemme repeat that: the vast majority of fentanyl is smuggled by US citizens for US citizens thru official Ports of Entry.
@ElwoodBlues Yep. And the grand total smuggled in by way of Canada last year was like 48 lbs. I have carried bigger bags of cat litter.
DEAD WRONG!! As usual!! Most fentanyl is smuggled in by US citizens thru legal border crossings; quotes and references below.

According to the conservative Cato Institute,

Fentanyl Is Smuggled for U.S. Citizens By U.S. Citizens, Not Asylum Seekers

❖ Fentanyl smuggling is ultimately funded by U.S. consumers who pay for illicit opioids: nearly 99 percent of whom are U.S. citizens.

❖ In 2022, U.S. citizens were 89 percent of convicted fentanyl drug traffickers—12 times greater than convictions of illegal immigrants for the same offense.

❖ In 2023, 93 percent of fentanyl seizures occurred at legal crossing points or interior vehicle checkpoints, not on illegal migration routes, so U.S. citizens (who are subject to less scrutiny) when crossing legally are the best smugglers.

❖ The location of smuggling makes sense because hard drugs at ports of entry are at least 96 percent less likely to be stopped than people crossing illegally between them.

❖ At most, just 0.009 percent of the people arrested by Border Patrol for crossing illegally possessed any fentanyl whatsoever.

❖ The government exacerbated the problem by banning most legal cross-border traffic in 2020 and 2021, accelerating a switch to fentanyl (the easiest-to-conceal drug).

❖ During the travel restrictions, fentanyl seizures at ports quadrupled from fiscal year 2019 to 2021. Fentanyl went from a third of combined heroin and fentanyl seizures to over 90 percent.

❖ Annual deaths from fentanyl nearly doubled from 2019 to 2021 after the government banned most travel (and asylum).

Again, all the above, as well as the paragraphs below, are from the conservative Cato Institute.
https://www.cato.org/blog/fentanyl-smuggled-us-citizens-us-citizens-not-asylum-seekers
https://www.cato.org/blog/us-citizens-were-89-convicted-fentanyl-traffickers-2022

It is monstrous that tens of thousands of people are dying unnecessarily every year from fentanyl. But banning asylum and limiting travel backfired. Reducing deaths requires figuring out the cause, not jumping to blame a group that is not responsible. Instead of attacking immigrants, policymakers should focus on effective solutions that help people at risk of a fentanyl overdose.

U.S. Citizens Bring Fentanyl Through Legal Crossing Points

That U.S. citizens account for most fentanyl trafficking convictions is not surprising given the location of fentanyl border seizures. In 2023, 93 percent of fentanyl border seizures occurred at legal border crossings and interior vehicle checkpoints (and 91 percent of drug seizures at checkpoints are from U.S. citizens—only 4 percent by “potentially removable” immigrants). In 2022, so far, Border Patrol agents who were not at vehicle checkpoints accounted for just 7 percent of the fentanyl seizures near the border (Figure 2). Of that 7 percent, CBP has testified the majority was seized from vehicle stops, again usually from U.S. citizens. Since it is easier for U.S. citizens to cross legally than noncitizens, it makes sense for fentanyl producers to hire U.S. citizen smugglers.

The DEA reports that criminal organizations “exploit major highway routes for transportation, and the most common method employed involves smuggling illicit drugs through U.S. [ports of entry] in passenger vehicles with concealed compartments or commingled with legitimate goods on tractor-trailers.” Several agencies including CBP, ICE, and DHS intelligence told Congress in May 2022 the same thing: hard drugs come through ports of entry.

@Reason10 You gave sources such as newsmax that merely quoted tRump's justifications. You gave nothing that supported his justifications. I have multiple sources that give the lie to tRump's justifications. Please learn the difference between quoting justifications and stating facts!!

UNELECTED JOE

More evidence-free disproven claims from you. Are you allergic to actual evidence???

After his 2020 loss, Trump brought SIXTY ONE court cases at different levels in different states with different teams of lawyers, and NONE of them found any evidence of significant election fraud. NONE of them.

Trump also asked his attorney general (and one of his staunchest allies), William Barr, to have the 112,000 member Dept of Justice look into election fraud. I don't know how many members were assigned to look for fraud, but with 112,000 members they have plenty of resources. Barr told the AP that U.S. attorneys and FBI agents have been working to follow up specific complaints and information they’ve received, but “to date, we have not seen fraud on a scale that could have effected a different outcome in the election.”

But wait! There's more!!

In the days after his 2020 loss, Trump's campaign commissioned two different independent firms to look into 2020 election fraud: Simpatico Software, headed by Ken Block, and Berkeley Research Group. Neither found any significant fraud.

In the months after Biden took power, the republican states of Arizona and Georgia carried out very careful hand recounts and examinations of voter rolls, including the notorious Arizona "Cyber Ninja" hand count. Both found no significant fraud and no signs of funny business.

Additional "rigged election" claims have evaporated under scrutiny.

(1) Mike Lindell? Lost to his own "prove me wrong" thing.
(2) Mark Meadows? Recanted under oath.
(3) Sydney "Kracken" Powell? Recanted under oath.
(4) Kenneth Chesebro? Recanted under oath.
(5) Rudy Giuliani? Convicted of defamation.
(6) Vote counting machines? They match hand counts.
(7) 2000 Mules? Source "True the Vote" refuses to back up any of their claims in court, despite subpoenas.
(8) Fox News paid out $787,500,000 because they couldn't support their claims of election fraud. $787,500,000 - that ain't pocket change. A business doesn't pay out $787,500,000 for defamation without first spending millions to see if there might be a shred of support for what its people said; to find some excuse for why it's not defamation.

Source info for all points available upon request.

So there you have it. There's no rational reason to believe Trump's lies about a "rigged" or "stolen" election. Evidence for it doesn't exist. Now I know all these investigations won't change the minds of cult members, but an immunity to evidence is one of the ways you know you're in a CULT!!!

rump is going to ramp up domestic energy production (which unelected Joe shut down)
DEAD WRONG AGAIN!!!
You are on a falsehood roll tonight!!!

The US produced more oil in 2023 than any nation ever produced in a one year span. It's funny how the right wing pretends Biden curtailed oil when in fact we set a world record, LOL!!!

the United States set a new record in 2023 by averaging 12.9 million barrels per day (b/d) of crude oil production, including condensate. This figure surpasses the previous US and global record of 12.3 million b/d, set in 2019. What’s even more impressive is that this record-breaking trend culminated in December 2023, when average monthly U.S. crude oil production soared to over 13.3 million b/d, marking a historic milestone.

When asked yesterday what Canada needed to do to avoid the tariff (because he had been a little unspecific in identifying crossng points for illegal migrants and drugs), Trump replied nothing, America needs the money. Suggesting he has already confused himself over why he imposed the tariff in the first place.
