It is virtue signalling and political theatre. 93% of abortions happen before 13 weeks. It takes another 10 weeks before a fetus can even survive outside the womb.
So we are talking about a bill that claims to protect a hypothetical that is only possible on a fraction of the 7% of later term abortions. And it takes about 23 weeks for a fetus to survive outside the womb so even abortions that happen after 13 weeks don't necessarily fit in the category of a fetus capable of surviving.
This would be such a rare hypothetical as to make this simple pandering and not a serious bill.

@missyann It is a law being pushed for a made up issue. An urban legend. So no, it is a waste of time and resources to manipulate people like you into voting for them. That is all it is about.
