It stands for Diversity Equity Inclusion. This is not a quota program. It's a program that endorses businesses to hire people who would otherwise not be hired. And yes they must be qualified. This includes gender and religion and the disabled. As of right now this program has been discontinued. There are some who feel that DEI has nullified skill. It overlooks the qualifed. And promotes discrimination. Do you believe that DEI should be banned.🚫 Best answer wins. 🤔🇺🇸

Dei should not be banned; the suggestions that it gives preference to qualified persons with diversity status ignores a) that it only equalizes the playingfield whereas persons without "diversity status" may have had preference already. And b) that currently the vast majority of positions are held by post retirement age white men. Is equal opportunity discrimination? I dont think so.
@jehova take a look at the statement by the la fire dept chief, a lesbian, woman, who admitted she would not be able to save a full grown man, it was his fault for putting himself in a dangerous situation. I saw it first hand in nursing school. An obviously unqualified black woman was allowed into the program she took the place of someone more qualified
@Patriot96 there definitely needs to be balance your first example. If someone (a DEI hire or not) cannot preform the duties of a position (even with a reasonable accommodation) they shouldnt be given the job. Second example i have the same perspective; though given a "leg up" in admissions if the person proves themselves to unqualified\not upto the position, that should be grounds for dismissal. Equal opportunity is not the same as legitimate qualification (it shouldnt be)
@jehova Adam Corolla did an interview inwhich he addressed that issue. He applied to LA fire dept. After 7 years he was called to take the test. A 5'2" black woman behind him in line had signed up on 3 days prior. Who do you want in an emergency. FAA has a DEI program for air traffic controllers.
