UK signs “historic” 100 year partnership with Ukraine

@justanothername Ukraine is not a neighbor. UK is in northwestern Europe, separated from the rest of Europe by sea. Ukraine is in Eastern Europe and Russia is its neighbor to the east.

Why should Britain care about how Russia and Ukraine deal with each other?

Hitler and all that other stuff aside, my truth is that a very powerful and proud nation are destroying Ukraine just for wanting independence. They are on their knees as we speak and I can't just sit by and watch. This is a very important time in history and the words we type now will be visible to others for a very long time. Everything we say sets an example.

@SinlessOnslaught Ukraine does not know what it wants. There are some who think following Europe and America is the answer, but Europe is on its own now. Now Europe is on its own, each country will go their own way. Is it independence when you seek to follow others? If Ukraine were independent, they would have good relations with its closest neighbor, the country which shares its land and history, and they would have neutral and good relations with others. You do not have to despise Russia to be independent. Independence is not getting on your knees for the West.

What will Ukraine do now? America has changed. Trump does not want US to keep holding Europe together.

You made a post saying US should stop being “everybody's hero.” Can't you see? The time has come.

@emiliya What did Ukraine do so wrong that they deserve to have all their men wiped out? Do you realize what happens after all the adult men on one side are gone?

@SinlessOnslaught They are choosing to wipe out their men. Every nation has a choice; the Palestinians could “choose” to relent and give up Gaza, or Israel could “choose” to stop bringing in settlers and bombing the Palestinians. Ukraine has chosen to sacrifice their men for a wrong and futile cause. They have forced their men to fight, and the anti-Russian westerners have encouraged it. These men have died for nothing.

@SinlessOnslaught Do you think it would be this way were it not for the second ousting of Yanukovych and revolution? Who started it all? Ukraine was not only tempted by the West; it was infiltrated by the West. US spent millions organizing anti-Russian protests in Ukraine and other countries. The protests were violent and the purpose was to ensure Ukraine would shut Russia out, and do what the West wants.

@emiliya I understand Ukraine made some economic decisions that don't support your country but there is a question I asked you earlier that you didn't answer. Are you aware of what will happen after all the men in Ukraine are gone? It will be occupied by men from a country with lax enforcement of of domestic violence laws and a well documented history of atrocities in war. Them, and innocent women and children from the country they hate. So their decision not to join the EU in 2014 justifies this invasion of their country and you accept the consequences that will follow?

@SinlessOnslaught Domestic violence laws are nonsense. They tear families apart in America and create fatherless children. Women use them to hurt their partners and push them out of their homes. It is one thing to deprive yourself of a husband, but how can they do it to their children? How can they send their men to prison? Putin believes that family life is for the family; progressive western states believe family life is for the state.

What do you think is going to happen? Ukraine can lay down its arms and accept a peace deal, and men will stop dying. It is a simple remedy for a war that could have been avoided with different US leadership.

She was an arrogant, petulant feminist who tried to trip Peterson up. Peterson has superior intellect, and he kept his cool. The inevitable conclusion was that he emerged triumphant.

How do you know what Russian army is doing? Are you there?

Why can't you think of solutions? All I am getting from you is “Russian army is bad, Ukrainian men should keep fighting.” What kind of attitude is this?

Why did Ukraine invite war?

@emiliya You're bringing up Cathy Newman and Jordan Peterson like we're trying to replicate some political BS. That's not what I'm doing. I've chatted with you before. You seem like a decent person who is capable of showing feelings. But I can't understand why you support a military who has been accused of frequent war crimes by the UN and HRW. I've even heard Ukrainian women who had to move to my area in the US, they complain that they had to leave their husband/brother/father behind to die. They moved here to escape from the missile attacks and r**e and killings committed by Russian forces on unarmed people. I only see women from Ukraine btw, no men, because all the men are trapped, they have to stay in Ukraine and die. I only meet their poor wives and daughters who have to leave those men behind, which is unimaginable.

Does Russia at least condemn any of the mass war crimes? I haven't been able to find any resources from Russia addressing the reckless way that their military as a whole treats human lives like political McGuffins.

Most armies commit what they call “war crimes.” This is the nature of war. Violence begets violence. It is about pummelling your enemy into submission and winning. The victors of WWII committed atrocities; they burned hundreds of thousands of Germans alive. Soviet forces raped German women. Men were forced to go into camps and starved to death. Can you tell me an effective, aggressive army that has not committed war crimes?
