What To Do About a SW User Who Thinks Hawai'i and the Philippines Belonged to JAPAN on December 7, 1941?

Clearly, we do not spend enough money on education in this country. And it will only get worse under Trump.

The sad thing is you have such a fear of President Trump that you blame this on him. Reality is by the time he was in HS and college, you as well, history wasn’t a big deal to be taught. Helped y’all graduate HS and college.

What can I say? I'm good at what I do!

Of course, Il Duce helps make it even easier.

Best that you can do is show them when Hawaii became a territory.

There will always be flat earthers and deniers unfortunately. 😞

Hawaii—a U.S. territory since 1898—became the 50th state in August, 1959, following a referendum in Hawaii in which more than 93% of the voters approved the proposition that the territory should be admitted as a state.

His point though was we had ships in their territory. Presumably off the cost of Japan. Which is totally irrelevant.

We have Russian fly-bys all the time in USA territory and visa versa. Neither of us start a war over it.

This is more than just lack of history. Yet as well a lack of current events knowledge.

BTW his alternate account has me blocked. Likely the same would happen if I joined that conversation. He really doesn't want facts.

Nothing to do with Trump or money. It is agenda not money. Lots of false teaching in the departments of education all over the world regardless of how much or little money is spent or who is the leader of the nation.

@beckyromero So you don't know that the white house used to be the brown house until Canadians set it on fire and the Yanks painted it white to cover the fire damage?? Maybe it is you that needs a history lesson.

@hippyjoe1955

Little anal retentive tonight, are you? Don't have any Dulcolax? Doesn't the Canadian health care system cover that?

At the time of the War of 1812, the White House was technically referred to as the "Executive Mansion."

The name "White House" was made official by President Theodore Roosevelt.

But we are talking about the same building.

No different than if someone today referred to Rogers Center as having opened in 1989 (when at the time is was technically called the SkyDome).

@beckyromero Your sense of history is completely lacking. Too Funny!!!

Someone knows very little about history
You have never watched Animal house. Bluto told us all the Germans attacked Pearl harbour and he was on double secret probation. I am going with him. 😂😂😂😂

To be fair, I bet a good chunk of Americans did not know Hawaii was a US Territory on 12/7/41, or had even heard of it.
beckyromero · 36-40, F
@trollslayer

Oh, I think most Americans in 1941 knew all about Hawai'i. And the Philippines, too. (the generation that fought the war with Spain was still alive).

But Americans of today?

I saw a story about one woman who thought Alaska was an island because of how maps portray it.
