What possible explanation could trump have for not calling off the Jan6 insurrection?

He can say he was actually watching "I love Lucy" reruns and didn't realize what was going on since he was already out of a job...

Personally, I don't think tRump was passively watching Jan 6. I think he was communicating with a few of the insurrectionists via a burner phone, and didn't call it off until they had reached a dead end.

I wonder why only the 2021 protest at the capital is an insurrection and the 2018 protest is just an expression of the first amendment
