A lot of things I never knew. I was like most people believing that rednecks were just products of the slave South, and that they were nothing more than a bunch of Jeff Foxworthy jokes. Turns out, master Historian Thomas Sowell traces the original rednecks, (their laziness, stupidity, reckless lifestyles, non existent sexual morality) to the earliest immigrants from the northern borders of Great Britain and Scotland.

This book also explains the unique history of Slavery, and how Alex Haley admitted that the story Roots was a myth he wanted to give his people. American did NOT travel to Africa and capture blacks and drag them back to America. The original slave traders were Arabs, and the slave trade goes back hundreds of years before Africans began selling their own people into slavery.
A fascinating read, by one of the most brilliant black authors in the world today.

@wildbill83 Actually, according to this amazing, eye opening work, crackers and rednecks came from the same part of the world. And it wasn't originally the US South.
