Will the USA remain as a democracy if Project 2025 prevails?

If someone were to try to subvert the US Constitution would the current US Supreme Court re-direct the submissions back to the tenets of the Constitution - OR is there a 'loophole' where absolute power to the Presidency can be granted??
What is the legal limitation / authority of Congress to maintain the tri-partite "Separation of Powers" in status-quo if a President were to try to shift the balance from rule by legislated law to rule by executive order? From the article in the link, the suggestion is that President Trump will be trying to remodel the government so only his directives will be law and he will be able to act without consulting Congress.

The first link below speaks to "Project 2025" and Trump trying to deny his association to it during the election, but now engaging with its author (and previous Presidential councillor) to forcefully enact a similar strategy as Project 2025 promotes.

The second, third and fourth links simply give you (the reader) the background information about the agency and people reporting on the first link.

What specific items within 2025 are anti-democracy or authoritarian in nature??
MarkPaul · 26-30, M
@easterniowegin
-- Prohibition of pornography and incarceration for those who distribute it.
-- Complete ban of abortion rights.
-- Using loyalty tests and oaths (not to the Constitution) for federal hiring.
-- Prosecuting the Pennsylvania secretary of state for offering provisional ballots to voters whose mail ballots were rejected due to slight errors on their mail ballot envelopes in the 2020 election.
-- Use federal criminal law to police a state official’s compliance with state law
-- Use the presidency to punish political opponents, or anyone else.

Maybe forcing porn onto a separate .xxx platform would help better protect kids from accessing it and allow a way to better monitor exploitation of women and children.
Also, protecting lives, even of unborn offspring, is one of the few responsibilities of the govt.

-- Using loyalty tests and oaths (not to the Constitution) for federal hiring.
This is a suggestion for hiring/employment practice of the executive branch...not a proposal for new law. Any executive anywhere should expect loyalty of their subordinates. Otherwise why employ them? 🤷🏼‍♂

-- Prosecuting the Pennsylvania secretary of state for offering provisional ballots to voters whose mail ballots were rejected due to slight errors on their mail ballot envelopes in the 2020 election.
Provisional ballots aren't tracked and in many cases may not even be counted, depending on several other local factors. That is unacceptable and can allow for mass fraud.

-- Use federal criminal law to police a state official’s compliance with state law
You're ok with govt officials not being held accountable to following the law and their oath? "No one is above the law" only applies to the opposition party, right?

-- Use the presidency to punish political opponents, or anyone else.
Are you paraphrasing this? Lol
Again, you've enjoyed the recent witch hunts of your opponents but don't want full accountability for all?
@easterniowegin

I don't think this would even be possible, but I don't have a problem with the government trying. However, that's not what Project 2025 is saying. It's saying porn should be banned.

@BohemianBabe
Yeah, Im sure they are wanting this for moral reasons. Sort of like why prostitution is illegal in most states.

if you can't ensure that women and children aren't exploited by an activity, then the overall activity might not be necessary or viable. Collateral damage is unacceptable.
@easterniowegin I didn't say anything about moral reasons.

Child porn is already illegal. Adults can be exploited in porn, as in any other industry. There's no reason to single out porn when it comes to protecting workers from exploitation.

Just to be clear, you're saying you're ok with porn being banned? Fascists are so rarely honest, they usually dance around their own stances. Are you saying so many women are exploited in porn, that it should be banned?
easterniowegin · 51-55, M
@BohemianBabe
I made zero reference to you and morality?! I merely said that is most likely why they included porn in the project document...like prostitution already.
I don't have an opinion either way on porn.

Sex work by nature is exploitative, but using women against their will and children at all occurs all the time and should be stopped. If that means ending it altogether, so be it.
@easterniowegin You said: "Yeah, Im sure they are wanting this for moral reasons."
I don't know where that came from, I didn't say anything about morality.

Sex work by nature is exploitative, but using women against their will

That's already illegal. Project 2025 wants to ban consensual porn.
But you're against that, right? That would be a huge attack on freedom of speech, correct?
easterniowegin · 51-55, M
@BohemianBabe it is illegal, but happens all the time. Too many corrupt ppl with their heads in the sand allowing the illegal activities to continue...and making money from it.
If regulations won't fix it, shut it all down. As interstate commerce, it can be regulated or outlawed completely. No one is guaranteed the right to sell themselves for money.
@easterniowegin Sure, exploitation happens in every industry. The long history of exploitation and abuse in the wrestling industry is finally being talked about in mainstream news because of the allegations against Vince McMahon. But does that mean wrestling should be banned? There's tons of abuse in Hollywood, should movies be banned?

This is an argument that can be made against any industry. The logical conclusion is essentially, no more art.
easterniowegin · 51-55, M
@BohemianBabe again, it goes back to selective law enforcement. If those who took an oath to serve and protect were required to enforce laws, maybe it would be easier to handle.

Is porn that important to you? Lol
@easterniowegin So we should just ban all art? That's legit the argument you're making? Turn the West into North Korea?

Freedom of speech is that important to me. I don't want an entire genre of art banned.
easterniowegin · 51-55, M
@BohemianBabe So you're resolved to the fact that we cannot stop the illegal exploitation within the industry and you're ok with that??
@easterniowegin Of course we can stop the exploitation. Every entertainment industry should be better regulated.
I just don't want to ban porn, wrestling, music, or any other genre of art.
MarkPaul · 26-30, M
@easterniowegin It's sounding like you weren't really interested in learning what aspects of Project 2025, that Insurrectionist-Cry-Baby-trump claimed he never heard of by the way. Instead, you want to defend the authoritarian and anti-democrat intentions of it. I just wish you could have been honest about your intentions... you know, for your credibility. But, you only care about credibility when it applies to the opposition party, right...?

Marriage can be harmful to kids and women in a lot of ways so by your logic should we ban it?
easterniowegin · 51-55, M
@SatanBurger That's a terrible analogy.

Marriage is great for most....porn benefits who??? The depraved ?!
Porn harms every child that is impacted/involved. Frankly, you could argue that porn harms all adults also.
@easterniowegin

Look at you, pretending you don't watch porn. 😝

Frankly, you could argue that porn harms all adults also.

How?
