This assumes that enough people will be deported to make a difference. There will be a few high profile deportations and the project will be declared a success.

@LeopoldBloom Insurrectionist-Cry-Baby-trump has a money is no object mentality especially when it's not his money. And, yes there will be resistance from the states, but that's why he is claiming/threatening to use federal military force. He and "the base" are easily entertained by chaos, mass hysteria that points back to him (it makes him feel powerful), and will be "historic." He is actually counting on resistance which makes it even more thrilling to him... and "the base."

@MarkPaul I predict this will be as successful as the wall that Mexico paid for.

@LeopoldBloom That's not really the point. He never really succeeds at anything he sets out to do. He's all about creating a perception. The main idea is to create hysteria. And his cronies are chomping at the bit to deliver that.
When Trump doesn't accept responsibility and blames it on someone else, the base will buy it, I'm sure.
And that's despite Musk's warning.

Any factory farm. Meat, eggs, vegetables. Is MAGA going to take those jobs when all Social Programs get shut down?

@MarmeeMarch Yes... that is exactly the point. If there was some way to prevent businesses from salivating over and hiring this super-cheap labour, there wouldn't be a need for a wall, a deportation gimmick, some old, fat, sweaty guy getting people enthusiastic about being inhumane. But... the downside that increase in labour costs is going to paid some way... at that is by consumers. Perhaps that would be worth. But, if so someone as to assure those businesses.

@MarmeeMarch When there is a will there is a way and by that I mean businesses are always looking for ways to cut costs (let's call it "efficiency") and labour costs are almost always their highest expenses. Thinking "cheap labour" will suddenly dry up on top of the massive costs to round-up millions of people might be a fun fantasy when thinking about the entertainment value of seeing humans treated like animals (even if you like to think they are animals). But, realistically, it's the least effective way to resolve the issue... but it does get views and applause. Perhaps that's the real motivation...
