In the summer of 2023, Pew Research polled people about women in politics. And although the answers aren't self-reporting, it's true that many people will impute their opinions and motives to "others." So I take this question "Many Americans aren't ready to elect a woman to higher office" to mean being female was a major reason people voted against Harris.

@ElwoodBlues You don't need a majority to be misogynist, you just need enough people that would have voted for your side to not vote. Discrimination doesn't need to be super wide spread to tilt an election.
