CALEXIT: Should California follow Taiwan's struggle for independence?

Trump is back, and he will come with even more tools and skill and supporters than last time. Trump could install two more Supreme Court Justices during his next term. That would make the already extra conservative court into an ultra-conservative one. The court has already undone decades of precedent and turned back the clock effectively 80 years on progressive issues. With more Justices, the laws that could be reinterpreted will be even more of an attack on everything California cares about

There is a "legal path" towards secession from the U.S. and there is a petition calling for a Californian independence referendum.

US support for Taiwan's independence validates a breakup of the republic. Freedom for California.
Re Taiwan : Gov’t/Administration:” Strategic ambiguity”, not openly advocating or support “ independence “.
@sree251 Ever heard the expression “The world’s policeman”
@sree251 There is a video you might enjoy given our conversation. It is called “The coming war on China”. It covers some of the topics we’ve been touching on. It can be found on TUBI.

It can be found on TUBI.

Ok, I will watch it.
Taiwan doesn't claim to be independent. It is the last vestiges of a military junta from the Chinese civil war. It would be like if the Confederacy managed to take and hold Rhode Island and one of the great colonial powers of the day backed them.

Taiwan also claims to be the rightful rulers of all Mainland China too.

That is why it calls itself the Republic of China.

This is high school history stuff.

As for California the US seems determined to make Cyberpunk 2077 a documentary already so, I guess.
Cool. If CA wants to leave the union, enjoy.

California on the other hand cannot secede as it holds something like 40% of the US debt alone, and it doesn't have assets to cover the shortfall.

What do you mean by holding US debt? The $35 trillion national debt is owed by the federal government.
Typical democrat.. take your bat and ball and go home…

The rest of America would throw a party if the border was dog legged up the west coast

@TheOneyouwerewarnedabout If CaliFAGula left the US, Democrats would probably NEVER attain the presidency again.
@TheOneyouwerewarnedabout Us real Oregonians would love to see the calis and upper east coasters kicked out, including us true Native Portlanders, and make Oregon at least conservative purple again.

Texas wanted to secede also whenever liberals controlled the White House and ruled the nation. The rest of America would throw a party too. Hawaii is occupied territory for projecting US military power across the Pacific thus turning it into a target in a nuclear exchange. Those islanders are also itching to leave.

They dont need to. just stop sending the federal government checks next year..😷
The last time a state seceded we had a four year civil war between the United States Union and the southern Confederate states during the mid 19th century.
