An iphone 16 if made in the usa would cost around 3000 dollars if made by properly paid us workers in a proper factory with proper manufacturing and labour practises. Tim Cook would have no job as apple would cease to exist.
Just like here in Australia consumers have got used to cheap imported goods made where quality doesn't matter and human rights no longer apply.

Cheap imported goods where quality doesn't matter? Is Apple's China-made iPhone a shoddy product? The Chinese making the iPhones are not complaining about human rights. What's your problem?

@sree251 Foxconn etc. employees are like modern slaves. Open your eyes and look into it for yourself. Plenty of confirmed reports of low and poorly paid employees. China is the worlds 'cheap as chips' manufacturing country now. And nearly every single mobile phone and other electronic device is made there.

@Lhayezee Well when you can't get fixed line phones anymore (as in the case here where NBN replaced nearly all fixed-line phone services in Australia except rural areas) a mobile phone is the only way to make/receive calls/messages, etc. But I own a Sonim phone. US brand, but again made in China like all other phones.
