If your candidate isn't doing everything you want..

Does it make more sense to elect a tyrant?
Too many people are willing to let the perfect be the enemy of the good. The far left keeps trying the strategy of not voting for the Democrat, thinking that this will push the party to the left, when it’s had the opposite effect.

A good leader has the ability to listen to the information on hand and make decisions, even if those decisions run contrary to what he/she may personally believe, or what he/she may have campaigned on. The world changes. Good leaders adapt.

A poor leader only sticks to his/her "gut", doesn't listen to advisors, refuses to consider new information, and may have initial success, but fails when conditions change. In other words, I don't consider "flip-flopping" to necessarily be a bad thing.

Think of a football coach. The best ones are able to adapt to changing weather and player injuries. The bad ones insist on sticking to their passing game despite a 10 degree blizzard.
No, because you never know who the next tyrant is going to be. If we elected a fantastic president, then gave that person full dictator-level power, things might be really good. But eventually that person will either die or retire, and their replacement could be an insane mass murderer. But without checks and balances, we wouldn't be able to restrain that person, or vote them out of power. That's why Authoritarianism is always bad, even when the Authoritarians in charge are doing good things.

This is why even if I knew that Harris would do nothing as president, I'd still vote for her. It's just about keeping our checks and balances.

You are right. Kumala is pretty terrible I would never vote for her.
