@BlueVeins Different tactic, but is the intention different? Mass sterilization is also only part of the equation, and a piece of land being part of the former territory of the state that preceded yours doesn't give you rights over (nor the justification to brutalize) the now independent and sovereign states that surround you. Also China isn't keen on using it's military much (yet?) and likewise that reflects on how they conduct this sort of stuff, I suppose.
Russia's recent history involves, among other things, deliberately targeting beyond reasonable doubt and tearing down entire purely residential buildings and facilities (hospitals, schools) with missiles, ràping pretty much everything that comes with a pulse (women, men, kids, elders, pets even), torturing prisoners of war, torturing civilians, separating families and abducting kids, while filling nuclear power plants with explosive and threatening to trigger another Chernobyl in Zaporižžja if they don't get their way. How is it any better than anything Israel has done?

Russia just isn't as relevant on the world stage as it used to be.
This is the key here. But the fact that at least for the moment the countries that aren't directly neighboring them are temporarily out of reach don't make them any good or any better. I fact checked the claims being repeated, the truth is still, Russia remains highly relevant in Africa, arguably more so since the Ukraine war.
Their military, diplomatic, and economic activities have expanded significantly, with increased military operations across the continent.
The idea that Russia is somehow irrelevant doesn't hold water when you consider their growing footprint.
The U.S wàr crimes in Africa far surpass those of Wagner’s operations. They are crimes stretch back decades, affecting multiple nations, yet they’re rarely discussed with the same urgency. And never held accountable for them.
And that's without even mentioning the atrocities committed by European powers. And still being committed.
Entire ethnic groups have been wiped out, countries have descended into complete lawlessness because of these prolonged wars, zero infrastructure. They are dealing with the consequences of what has happened, not hypothetical scenarios or distant what ifs about Russia. They already had their own experiences with Russia Vs the US and other european powers.

Though partially relevant, that is not really what is driving most people away from supporting Europe and the US after 2023. It is more of the fact that Israel is being sheltered for its actions by the very powers that destroyed their world. Yes, they see Russia as a lesser evil but not JUST compared to Israel. Compared to multiple powers and other dynamics. Most African countries always been less supporting of Israel. And if one wishes to compare Israel to Russia, they have to compare the events of their entire occupation not just post 2023.
All war crimes , even if we look at them as "less", are significant transgressions against human rights. But unfortunately, and as decided by major powers, politics isn't driven by morality. It is driven by survival. It is only natural that developing countries would follow the same path. Cruelty begetting cruelty.
