Father of Georgia school shooting suspect arrested on charges including second-degree murder

The teen charged with denied threatening to carry out a school shooting when authorities interviewed him last year about a menacing post on social media, according to a sheriff’s report obtained Thursday. Meanwhile his father was arrested on a variety of counts, including second-degree murder.

Colin Gray, 54, the father of Colt Gray, was charged with four counts of involuntary manslaughter, two counts of second-degree murder and eight counts of cruelty to children, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation said in a social media post. No other details were immediately provided. A news conference was planned later Thursday.

I grew up around guns. I NEVER took a gun to school nor did I experience school shootings. My parents had control over me. I knew if I disobeyed there would be severe consequences. My parents knew who my friends were too. Guns are not a bad thing. What we have allowed our children to become is a bad thing. It’s time to stop spoiling them. It’s time to stop allowing them to identify as whatever they “feel like “ that morning. You are what you are when you’re born. It’s time to set boundaries with our children. Teach them values. Start actually parenting them at home and stop depending on the school to raise them.

@Tallcat well, back in the 1950s half the shows on TV were westerns, boys would regularly wear cap guns on their hips, but school and grocery store shootings were less common. Anecdotal evidence, I guess.
