George Washington was not the first president of the United States

The history revisionists have lied to you.
ChipmunkErnie · 70-79, M
Depends how you define the United States. There was a President of the Continental Congress/Confederation Congress (14 of them) but the role was largely ceremonial. Washington was the first under the Constitution.
He was the first President elected under the new Constitution's rules.
samueltyler2 · 80-89, M
Okay, who was?
trollslayer · 46-50, M
@samueltyler2 john Hanson
samueltyler2 · 80-89, M
@trollslayer who? Maybe some think so. But he was president of the continental Congress.

He invented the peanut.

@Bumbles

I’ll be damned. I thought God created the peanut!
Bumbles · 51-55, M
@MarthannBann888 God, Carver, either one.
MarthannBann888 · 70-79, F
@Bumbles

Either one? Really?
LordShadowfire · 46-50, M
I mean, it was John Hanson if you want to get technical. But he was president of the Continental Congress.

Now here's one for you. What's the name of the first black president in North America?
@LordShadowfire What are those three countries? Mexico is technically Latin/Central America.
trollslayer · 46-50, M
@LordShadowfire well, canada does not have a president, and mexico had a black president over a century ago. And Haiti is not North America
LordShadowfire · 46-50, M
@trollslayer Correct.
Everyone knows this, or should from 5th grade history class.
