It's basically a self-eating cycle they are on. The more extremist they are, the more they lose and the more they lose, the more extremist they become. It's as though they have no political sense at all. Meanwhile, Insurrectionist-Cry-Baby-trump could care less about anyone else. He's really into the entertainment of it for his own personal pleasure.

Of course, he does want to keep himself out of jail, but he genuinely doesn't believe he needs anyone's help although he does like to see that kind of loyalty displayed in exchange for servitude and seeing people trash their own reputations for his approval.
@MarkPaul The right wing is in the same spot they were 50 years ago, the left has shifted more left as time goes on to the point the right wing seems more extreme to them, when in reality they're not.

@NativePortlander1970 That's not even close to reality. The "right wing" used to believe in "compassionate conservativism." The "right wing" used to hold firmly to conservative values. The "right wing" used to have "big tent" energy. Although none were perfect adherents, Nixon, Reagan, Bush all practised to varying degrees that vintage "right wing" behaviour that started to fall apart under Newt Gingrich and only continued to deteriorate further as they abandoned all sense of decency.

Meanwhile, yes "the left" is extreme, but they acknowledge the power of a bigger tent, they have taken Chris Christie's political education that making political statements for the sake of "owning a group" doesn't win elections.

No, the "right wing" is not in the same spot as they were 50, 40, or even 30 years ago. They have become petty, small, and no longer conservative. They are now playing exclusively to "own the libs" and that will be their downfall. And, that downfall can't come soon enough.
