Trump Shooter’s Body ‘Gone’ as Congressman Unveils ‘Disturbing’ Investigation Fact
Rep. Clay Higgins (R-LA) accused the FBI of a “scorched earth” investigation after discovering that the body of the man who attempted to assassinate former President Donald Trump had disappeared, per the Daily Mail.
As an appointed member of Congress’ 13-member bipartisan task force reviewing the assassination attempt, Higgins decided to conduct his own investigation and requested to view the body of Thomas Matthew Crooks on Aug. 5.
He reported that his request to see the corpse “caused quite a stir and revealed a disturbing fact.”
Higgins, a former police captain, learned that the FBI had “released the body for cremation 10 days” after the July 13 shooting in Butler, Pennsylvania.
According to Higgins, no one, including the county coroner and local enforcement, knew that Crooks’ body had been returned to the family. When the FBI made the decision, the coroner still had “’legal authority over the body,” he wrote.
