What is a Classic Liberal?

I don't like calling the Woke Leftists Liberal. I would love to have a classic Liberal in office.

Today, a true classic Liberal, is a Republican. He is for a free market, Free speech,
and limited government. He is also against heavy regulations and more government
control.

If you are a JFK type Liberal, you should be voting for Conservative Republicans.

Today, JFK would be called a far right extremist, by the progressive leftists.

All of that is true. My parents were JFK democrats, and they were very conservative. My father was a military man, who later became a civil servant, and then still later became a college professor, and my mother was a farmer's daughter. Both were from Nebraska and they were conservative. My mother used to say, "Always vote Democrat because they support the farmers". But that turned out NOT to be true. BIG AG came in and bought up all the small family farms, and the Democrats did nothing to help.

Their ideals became mine to a certain degree...and you are correct...JFK would be a far right extremist by progressive radical loony left standards.

@4meAndyou My parents were the same way. I grew up in Iowa, to a WWII combat veteran.

They were conservative, but I remember them voting for Democrats too. After they got old
they could no longer vote for Dems.

@DogMan My father was born in Iowa and is buried there. I think our parents were what are called Blue Dog democrats.
