What will California do with all the Homeless people?
Now that Newsom has allowed cities to take action, what will they do with 200,000 homeless

@ron122 Sure, but the question is what will California do. Giving homes to the homeless would immediately solve the homeless problem.

They would require maid service, landscape service, food, medicine etc.. The second
that you tried to tell them that they have to contribute something, 90% would revolt.
Someone above posted something about a new 19 story highrise that just opened for
the homeless. I give it one year, it will either be mostly empty, or in serious disrepair
and the tenants will be complaining about everything.
It will turn into a huge money pit, and end up helping very few people.

I'm sure a lot of them are mentally ill or addicted to drugs. We do have a mental health crisis in America.
However, we tried just giving housing to the homeless. The result is always that most people, now housed, get jobs. Isn't that what we want? Public housing means less homelessness, less crime, more people working.

I know the homeless mentality, and very few actually want to be part of society.

@chrisCA Yes, there are a lot of homeless people who are homeless purely for economic reasons, but there are also a lot who are mentally ill or suffering from addiction. It's definitely a systemic issue. But as usual, the Right doesn't want to invest in housing, rehab centers, or healthcare. They just want to lock the homeless up.
