Gershkovich's Sentencing Exposes Corruption in Russian Legal System

Evan Gershkovich, a journalist for The Wall Street Journal, was sentenced to 16 years in a Russian prison on espionage charges. There are ongoing discussions about a potential prisoner exchange to secure his release. One possibility is that Gershkovich could be exchanged for Sergey Cherkasov, a Russian accused of espionage in the United States. This process shows how corrupt the Russian legal system is and how easily it can convict innocent people just to have a suitable exchange partner for a Russian spy on the American side.

It transcends corruption. It represents Russian society. It is frightening to see how many countries seem too be moving in this direction

@samueltyler2 knowing that , as an American , it’s frightening to see how many of my countrymen continue to voluntarily put themselves in harms way.
samueltyler2 · 80-89, M
@AthrillatheHunt I am not sure i understand your comment.
AthrillatheHunt · 51-55, M
@samueltyler2 knowing the dangers , why would any American journalist go there? And a Jewish one at that .
samueltyler2 · 80-89, M
@AthrillatheHunt it is a job! Their job! But, how can our country seem to praise a person who espouses his desire to be a dictator even for one day, and one who praises Putin and called him brilliant? That is more frightening.
AthrillatheHunt · 51-55, M
@samueltyler2 we don’t use slave labor . Like I said : voluntarily .
(And Putin is brilliant btw and I hate the guy ).

@samueltyler2 Watch the interview in which he made that comment. It - like so.much else - was twisted by the media. Context gives meaning. Have you seen it yourself. Dont believe everything the mainstream media serves up. Especially not about Trump. They've deceived the public for years regarding Biden, haven't they? About the "Russian collusion"? About Hunter's laptop? Is it possible they're lying to you about more?
samueltyler2 · 80-89, M
@daydeeo wtf are you blabbing about now?
daydeeo · 61-69, M
@samueltyler2 You dont understand? OK. Good luck.
samueltyler2 · 80-89, M
@AthrillatheHunt who is using slave labor in this discussion?
samueltyler2 · 80-89, M
@daydeeo then you refuse to answer my question?
daydeeo · 61-69, M
@samueltyler2 wtf are you blabbing about now?
Would you respond to a so-called question like that?
samueltyler2 · 80-89, M
@daydeeo okay, you started this thread. We can start with your first comment, watch what interview, by whom?
daydeeo · 61-69, M
@samueltyler2 Referring to your comment, that Trump would be a dictator on day one. Watch the interview to see in what context that comment was made.
samueltyler2 · 80-89, M
@daydeeo I saw it, and listened carefully. I listen to.a lot of what he says. He is trying to be the fox in the henhouse. He says something outlandish then tries to cover it up! What does that even have to do with the subject of the thread?
